February 13, 2024.- The Civil Guard of Ávila, through the Subdelegation of the Government, expands the framework of collaboration between the State Security Forces and Local Police with the signing of Security Plans to achieve greater effectiveness of the agents in the performance of their tasks.
These are instruments that make it possible to make a diagnosis of the security situation in the municipality, evaluate the available resources and establish lines of joint action between the two bodies. The final objective, according to the subdelegate of the Government, Fernando Galeano, is to prevent and increase citizen security throughout the territory.
An objective that also includes the agreement that allows members of the different local police of the province to participate in the specific training plans of the Civil Guard.
Training sessions such as the one promoted by the Coordination Unit against Violence Against Women of the Subdelegation of the Government in Ávila on gender violence and the VioGén System and attended by members of the Civil Guard, as well as members of the different local police.
It was in 2023 when, within the framework of the collaboration agreement between the State Security Forces and the Local Police, the 11 local police of the province of Buenos Aires joined the VioGén System, benefiting from training actions that “seek to provide the agents with tools and knowledge for a better development of their functions.”
Collaboration that, according to Galeano, has also resulted in the participation of members of the Local Police in training courses on alcohol control in urban areas.
NEW AGREEMENTS
Precisely, during this month of February, agreements have been signed with the municipalities of Cebreros and Sotillo de la Adrada, whose Local Police will be able to participate in the Annual Plans of Operational Intervention Techniques (PATIO) of the Civil Guard, where the basic competences on operational intervention techniques that must be known by all components of the Corps are addressed.
In this way, it is possible to unify and keep up to date the techniques necessary to apply the so-called “gradual intervention arc”, through which an attempt is made to give a proportional, congruent and timely response with techniques and means, the application of which allows the civil guard to face and resolve situations during the performance of his functions.
