Renfe trains the drivers of the S106 in León

• The driving staff will prepare for the premiere of the new trains, which will be used in the AV routes that connect Castilla y León with Asturias and Madrid • With the arrival of the S106, Renfe will implement more seats, more frequencies, cuts in travel times and the arrival of the AVE and Avlo services

February 2, 2024.- Renfe will train drivers of the new S106 trains in León. Driving agents of this residence will prepare for the handling of this new material, which Renfe will use in the High Speed (AV) routes through the Pajares Variant in the connection of Castilla y León with Asturias and in the connections with Madrid.

Training courses for train drivers (including theory and practice) will be offered gradually to León’s driving agents. They will begin their theoretical training in S106 material in a few days, on February 12.

The training of train drivers on S106 trains, in addition to personnel from León, is also being carried out in other residences. A Coruña, Ourense, Madrid or Barcelona and, shortly, in Oviedo.

With the arrival of the S106 Renfe will progressively implement this year a second phase of commercial exploitation of the services of AV Asturias-Madrid.

With an increase in seats (the capacity of these trains almost doubles that of those currently in circulation) and more frequencies, there will be a further reduction in travel times and the implementation of new AVE and Avlo services.
