February 2, 2024.- The number of unemployed people registered in the Offices of the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE) in Castilla y León, at the end of January 2024, has risen by 3,461 people (3.07%) in relation to the previous month.
Thus, the registered unemployment stood at 116,084, which represents, compared to January 2023, a decrease of 9,550 people (-7.60%).
The number of members of Social Security in Castilla y León has reached 950,695 this November. This figure represents a decrease of 1.11% (-10,692 affiliates) compared to the previous month, but an increase of about 2.3% (21,247 affiliates) compared to the month of January 2023.
Unemployment by sector in Castilla y León
By economic sectors compared to December, the registered unemployment rises in the Construction sector by 75 people, in Services by 3,210 people, in Agriculture by 26 people and in Industry by 122 people. Among the group Sin Empleo Anterior increases by 28.
Unemployment by sex and age in Castilla y León
Female unemployment increases by 2,161 women (3.26%). There are a total of 68,498 unemployed women.
Male unemployment rises by 1,300 men (2.81%) and stands at 47,586.
Unemployment among young people under the age of 25 rose in January by 411 people (4.66%) compared to the previous month.
The total number of unemployed young people stands at 9,223.
Unemployment in other autonomous communities
The unemployment recorded in January 2024 rises in 16 communities with Andalusia (20,077), the Community of Madrid (9,646) and the Valencian Community (4,363) at the head.
Unemployment fell in Illes Balears by 582 people.
Contracts in Castilla y León
The total number of contracts registered during the month of January was 47,141. Of this total, 16,613 contracts are of an indefinite nature and represent 35.24% of all contracts.
Unemployment benefits of December 2023 in Castilla y León
The existing beneficiaries and beneficiaries at the end of the month were 71,421, a figure very similar to that of the same month of the previous year (71,134), which represents a decrease of -0.4%.
The coverage rate is 61.53%.
The total expenditure for December 2023 stood at €75.47 million, an increase of 0.36% compared to the same month of the previous year.
The average monthly expenditure per beneficiary, not including the agricultural subsidy of Andalusia and Extremadura, in the month of December 2023 has been 947.4.
