February 1, 2024.- The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached as of January 33,309 Castilian homes in which 96,982 people live, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). This benefit, which is paid by the Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since, of the total number of beneficiaries, 43.4% are minors (42,116). In addition, if we consider it by the number of households, in 66.4% there is at least one minor (22,141).
According to these data, in almost two out of three households the benefit holder is a woman and, if the total number of beneficiaries is taken into account, 53.9 per cent are women (52,332).
With regard to the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), they have already reached 19,954. The ICSC, which entered into force in January 2022, is an aid of 115 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; of 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and of 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.
