In order to ensure that these movements are carried out in the most orderly, fluid and safe way possible, Traffic has planned, among other measures of regulation and management, the installation of reversible and additional rails with cones in the hours of greatest traffic flow and the establishment of alternative itineraries. Likewise, the works on the roads will be paralyzed, the celebration of sports tests and other events that suppose the occupation of the road will be limited and the circulation of trucks in general and those who transport certain goods in certain sections, dates and times will be restricted.
In order to carry out all these measures, the DGT has officials, specialized technical staff of the Northern Traffic Management Center, agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard and employees of the conservation companies, of concessional roads dependent on the Ministry of Transport and the rest of the road owners, as well as personnel of the emergency services, both sanitary and fire fighters.

BASIC RECOMMENDATIONS
Recalling the slogan of this year’s Christmas campaign of the Agency “Arriving late is better than not arriving”, Traffic appeals to the responsibility of citizens to avoid actions that on numerous occasions can cause a sinister of lethal consequences. Since the beginning of the Christmas period, on December 22, 18 people have died in traffic accidents nationwide.
To avoid more pain, and despite being messages already known by drivers, it is necessary to insist again on some basic recommendations:
→ Do not get behind the wheel if alcoholic drinks have been ingested in the celebrations and, of course, do not let anyone who has done so drive.
→ Maximum caution on short and night trips, even if they are known.
→ Pay attention to the circulation in winter, being informed of the weather conditions and bring the essential elements to circulate if these are adverse.
→ Plan the trip in advance and inform yourself about any road incidents through traffic newsletters on the different radio and television stations, on the web www.dgt.es, on Twitter -@DGTes and @InformacionDGT- and on phone 011.
