Conditioning and accessibility of the Plaza de la Cosa
The Highlands Community of Soria, within its Plan of “Transformation of the Point of Sale” intends to undertake the accessibility of the Plaza de la Cosa, in San Pedro Manrique, the neuralgic center of the town, where bars, restaurant, hotel, financial institution, supermarket and temporary fairs among other activities are concentrated.
The objective proposed by this entity is the improvement of the accessibility, modernization and adequacy of commercial areas or axes. In the Plaza of the municipality several commercial establishments are concentrated, in addition to being in it where non-sedentary markets are established, making it the main commercial area. This square currently has several architectural barriers that make it inaccessible for people with special needs and particularly for elderly people
Taking into account the level of population aging of the area, an action has been established to eliminate these architectural barriers, the description of which is in the corresponding technical report, so that this area can be accessible to all citizens regardless of their particular circumstances or level of physical disability.
The project defines the works, which refer to the paving of an area of the Plaza, currently paved of 900 m2, and the replacement of the water supply network, due to the need for demolition of the current sidewalks.
