Nicanor Sen highlights the Government’s commitment to the rural environment in the inauguration of the new health center of La Robla
This is the first publicly owned Passivhaus building in the province of León, the third in Castilla y León
December 20, 2023.- The government delegate in Castilla y León, Nicanor Sen, participated this Wednesday in the inauguration of the new health center of La Robla, where he highlighted the commitment of the Government of Spain to guarantee the provision of quality services in rural areas and, especially, those affected by the energy transition.
“Today is an important day for the residents of La Robla and its surroundings because thanks to this infrastructure you will see how the health service improves. Therefore, it is important to highlight the support that the Government of Spain offers to the rural environment, in this case to the municipalities that are framed in the area of Just Transition through a line of direct aid that allows to make reality projects of great importance such as that of this greeting center”, said Sen.
During the visit to the facilities, Sen was accompanied by subdelegate of the Government, Faustino Sánchez, the director of the Institute for the Just Transition, Laura Martín, the president of the Diputación de León, Gerardo Álvarez Courel, and the mayor of La Robla, Santiago Dorado,
The government delegate wanted to remember that through this new building La Robla becomes an example of the government’s commitment to improving sustainability, after reaching energy efficiency levels above Spanish regulations.
According to Dorado, the new health center of La Robla becomes the first public building in the province of León to obtain the Passivhaus seal. A stamp that currently has only two other public buildings in Castilla y León, such as the University of Burgos and the Rio Vena Municipal Children's School, also in Burgos.
It is a building that will come into operation in the coming weeks and has had a version of around 1.3 million euros, of which 500,000 euros have been contributed by the Institute for the Fair Transition and the rest by the City of La Robla.
Likewise, the purchase of the land has involved a municipal outlay of 240,000 euros to which is added the urbanization of the environment that has been in charge of a budget of 1225,000 euros from the Diputación de León. In total, a three-way investment of around 1.8 million euros.
A property that has a useful surface of 1,000 square meters, with two differentiated areas. On the one hand, the medical office with a total of 10 consultations for four general medicine professionals, one paediatrician with lactation room and five nurses.
Added to this is the administrative area, as well as an office for social workers, an extraction room, a meeting room and changing rooms. Secondly, a point of continuous attention, with emergency consultations and residential area for health professionals on call.
A health center that also does not forget its roots or its mining past with a façade that has an envelope of gabions filled with hulls of one of the cooling towers of the old Thermal Power Plant, in the current process of dismantling.
