December 19, 2023.- The government delegate in Castilla y León, Nicanor Sen, visited on Tuesday the offices of the Traffic Management Center of Castilla y León of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), located at the headquarters of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Valladolid.
A visit that has been accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government in Valladolid, Alicia Villar, and by the autonomous coordinator of the DGT, Inmaculada Matías, and in the Sen has been able to see in detail how the transit of the roads of Castilla y León is controlled.
After making a visit for the different dependencies, Sen has held a working meeting that has allowed him to know at first hand the structure that the DGT has deployed in Castilla y León, as well as the situation of the state road network in the Community.
According to Matías during the meeting, the DGT is represented in Castilla y León through nine Provincial Headquarters located in the provincial capitals, in addition to the Northern Traffic Management Center in Valladolid and the Helicopter Patrol, based in Villanubla, the Centro Estada in León, and the Higher Center of Road Education located in Salamanca.
The Provincial Traffic Headquarters are functionally organized in two areas, citizen care and road safety, responsible for carrying out all the necessary actions to achieve the reduction of accidents on the roads of the Community. Throughout 2022, the offices of Castilla y León carried out more than 1.1 million procedures and around 200 people work in the different offices of the DGT deployed in the Community.
A meeting that has also served to prepare and coordinate the special Traffic campaign that is scheduled to be activated on the occasion of the Christmas campaign.
A visit that is part of the round of meetings that the new government delegate is carrying out in Castilla y León in the first days in his post, with the aim of knowing the functioning of the different agencies and services that the State has deployed in the autonomous community.
