December 14, 2023.- The Civil Guard of Segovia, in the framework of the ‘Criança’ operation carried out by the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Team (EDOA), has arrested five people as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, in the form of drug trafficking.
The detainees, of different nationalities, allegedly sold drugs in the province of Segovia and neighboring towns of the North of Madrid. Four are between the ages of 23 and 54 years old and are neighbors of Los Angeles de San Rafael, and the other is 63 years old and is neighbor of Alcalá de Henares.
With his arrest, this alleged criminal group specializing in the sale of cocaine has been dismantled.
The events began at the beginning of last June, when the Civil Guard learned that cocaine was being sold at a house in Los Angeles in San Rafael at a retail level. In addition, a feeling of insecurity was being generated among the residents of the area caused by the continuous movement of people, causing some social alarm.
For the identification of the detainees, intensive procedures, monitoring and follow-up had to be carried out, since they took important security measures, such as the frequent change of location of the narcotic substance.
After an investigation that has lasted several months, the agents carried out three house searches, authorized by the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 3 of Segovia, in the Urbanization of los Angeles of San Rafael and in a house in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid).
During the entrances and searches to the homes, 4,110 grams of high-purity cocaine were seized for about 7,000 doses, 750 grams of marijuana, useful for the manipulation and sale of drugs, 29,543 euros and several small arms.
The operation culminated in the five arrests, four members of a family clan and the person who supplied the drug, for the alleged commission of the crimes of drug trafficking and membership of a criminal organization.
At the time of the exploitation and completion of the operation, the Citizen Security Unit (USECIC) of the Segovia Command and the Cinological Service were supported to help dogs detecting drugs and money, as well as members of the Civil Guard of Madrid.
The cocaine apprehended was destined for the province of Segovia and neighboring towns of the North of Madrid. With this operation, several of the most important cocaine sales points in the province have been dismantled. The investigation remains open and no further arrests are ruled out.
The detainees, together with the investigation, were placed at the disposal of the Segovia Guard Court, which ordered the pre-trial detention of four of them.
