Unemployment registered a year-on-year decrease of 9,920 people in the month of November in Castilla y León
The number of members of the Social Security in Castilla y León amounted to 19,793 in the last year and reached 962,131
December 4, 2023.- The number of unemployed people registered in the offices of the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE) in Castilla y León, at the end of November, has decreased compared to November 2022 by 9,920 people and stands at 113,016. In relative terms, the drop in unemployment was 8.07%.
As for the monthly variation, unemployment rose by 1,801 (1.62%) in Castilla y León compared to October 2023.
The number of members of Social Security in Castilla y León has reached 962,131 this November. This figure represents a decrease of 0.73% (-7,096 affiliates) compared to the previous month, but an increase of more than 2% (19,793 affiliates) compared to the month of November 2022.
Unemployment by sector in Castilla y León
Unemployment has risen in all economic sectors compared to the previous month: in Services by 1,293 people (1.63%), in Industry 75 people (0.84%), in Agriculture by 146 people (3.0%), in Construction 212 (2.34%) and in the collective No Previous Employment decreases by 75 (0.65%).
Unemployment by sex and age in Castilla y León
In November, female unemployment rose with 548 more unemployed women (0.82%), standing at 67,479.
Male unemployment stands at 45,537, rising by 1,253 men (2.83%).
Unemployment among young people under the age of 25 rose in November by 206 people (2.28%) compared to the previous month.
The total number of unemployed young people under 25 years of age stands at 9,248.
Unemployment in other autonomous communities
The unemployment recorded in November 2023 fell in 8 Autonomous Communities. In absolute figures, the largest falls occur in Andalusia (-8,852), Community of Madrid (-6,753) and Valencia (-5,111).
In relative terms, it dropped more in Extremadura (-2.4%), Community of Madrid (-2.2%) and Galicia (-1.6%).
Contracts
The total number of contracts registered during the month of November was 53,396, of which 18,178 are indefinite, representing 34.04% of all contracts.
Unemployment benefits in October in Castilla y León
The existing beneficiaries and beneficiaries at the end of the month were 67,679, higher than in September (64,065).
The coverage rate stands at 56.69%.
The total expenditure for October 2023 amounted to 70.63 million euros.
The collection for unemployment quotas is growing significantly due to the improvement in the quality of employment and is expected to reach its historic peak in 2023.
