November 29, 2023.- The Public Sector Contracting Platform has announced the tender for the Execution of the project of thematic itineraries in nature in the region of Tierras Altas within the Tourist Sustainability Plan in Destination "The Footprint of Transhumance", financed within the framework of the Recovery Plan of the Government of Spain.
The awarding entity, the Presidency of the Highlands Community of Soria, has litigated it for a total of 159,882 euros and an execution period of 6 months. The deadline for submitting an offer is December 21.
In this month of November, the Public Services Contracting Platform announced last Friday, 24th, the tender of the Services Contract for the tourist conditioning of the El Castillejo de Castilfrio de la Sierra in the region of Tierras Altas de Soria, within the Tourist Sustainability Plan in destination "The Footprint of Transhumance", financed within the framework of component 14, Investment 1 of the PRTR of the Government of Spain. The tender was for 75,000 euros
It should also be remembered that on Monday, the 20th of this month, the Public Sector Contracting Platform announced the award of the contract for works necessary for the execution of the project of conditioning and signage of the Great Highlands Trail in the Highlands region of Soria: “The Transhumance Footprint”, also financed within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain (PRTR) and within the aforementioned Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan. The Assembly of Councillors of the Highlands Community of Soria has awarded this contract to Talher S.A for a total of 177,148 euros, and a term of execution of 12 months once the contract has been signed.
Within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), the Sectoral Conference on Tourism approved on December 23, 2021 the Extraordinary Program of Tourism Sustainability in Destinations plans corresponding to the year 2021. Among them was the one presented by the Commonwealth with the denomination “The Footprint of Transhumance” for a total of 2,956,866 €. The main objective of this Plan is to develop a development model that allows the evolution of the Highlands from the current phase of “involvement” towards the “consolidation” as a sustainable and intelligent tourist destination.
The Highlands Community as a local entity is formed by the association of the following municipalities united for the joint execution of works and services: San Pedro Manrique, Villar del Río, Magaña, Oncala, Yanguas, Fuentes de Magaña, Santa Cruz de Yanguas, Vizmanos, Las Aldehuelas, Valtajeros, Valdeprado, Cerbón, Castilfrio de la Sierra, Estepa de San Juan, Aldealices and Carrascosa de la Sierra. The Highlands region has an area of 69,489 hectares.
Nine Destination Tourism Sustainability Plans and almost 20 million in the province of Soria
Last May, the Tourism Sector Conference held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism approved definitively a total of 478 million euros for a total of 175 tourism sustainability projects corresponding to the III Extraordinary Call for the Program of Tourism Sustainability Plans in Destination 2023, financed entirely with the funds of the Recovery Plan.
Those additional 478 million to improve national tourism are added to the 660 million dedicated to the same end in 2021 and to the 720 million of last year’s edition. In total, there are already 1,858 million destined for these projects that prioritize environmental sustainability and digitalization with the aim of achieving a more competitive and higher quality tourism.
Part of these funds corresponding to the Plantes of Tourism Sustainability will be developed in Soria. In the call of 2023 the projects presented by the municipalities of Berlanga de Duero and Medinaceli have been approved, which will receive 1.5 million each of the 30 allocated to Castilla y León for a total of 16 projects.
The extraordinary call of 2021, involved the granting of 41.2 million euros financed with funds of the also called Plan España Podemos to carry out 18 plans and a cohesion action. In the extraordinary call of 2022 another 51 million arrived for the implementation of 15 plans. In addition, the regular program of Destination Tourism Sustainability Plans of 2022 also approved two projects in Covalent and Duruelo de la Sierra.
Thus, of the 50 Destination Tourism Sustainability plans that have been approved in Castilla y León for more than 130 million euros, nine have been approved in the province of Soria for a value that exceeds 19.5 million euros.
