October 16, 2023.- The Civil Guard has arrested six members of a criminal organization dedicated to the assault of the homes of businessmen in several localities of the province of Valladolid.
Operation Tratadopa began last year after the kidnapping of a businessman and his wife when they went to their home in the town of Tordesillas (Valladolid). The assailants pretended to be civilian guards and proceeded to stop the car in which the victims were travelling. They traveled together to the home for more than 40 kilometers, and once there they held all the family members - including a minor - until they took money and jewelry from a safe deposit box.
Pre-surveillance
The dismantled group controlled potential victims - always entrepreneurs - and used violence to make them believe that it was a police operation against money laundering.
The investigators attribute up to 12 burglaries in homes with force. They are also charged with the crimes of threats, theft of vehicles, documentary falsehood, illegal possession of weapons, attacks against agents of authority, drug trafficking and membership of an organized criminal group.
The investigation first identified one of those involved, a well-known criminal from a gang of criminals from Valladolid. Subsequently, the Civil Guard located in Cantabria and Galicia, the members who acquired the vehicle for the kidnapping of Tordesillas, proceeding to their arrest.
On another member of the band, there was a warrant for the arrest and imprisonment of a court in Valladolid. At the time of his arrest in Tordesillas, he had two firearms, drugs, cash, among other evidence of the crime.
In the search after the next two arrests, the Civil Guard carries out the seizure of 13 large vehicles, and finds a firearm, ammunition, bulletproof vests, a stolen vehicle, a drone, various beacons, concealment cameras, microphones and frequency inhibitors.
The investigators have reached a sixth detainee, who provided the initial information necessary for the commission of the kidnapping to the businessman of Tordesillas and his family.
