October 5, 2023.- The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) advances in the modernization and improvement of the containment systems in the State Road Network in the province of Segovia.
The Council of Ministers approved last January an investment of 3.8 million euros to undertake these works in:
- Upper steps of the SG-20 at kilometre points 0+160 and 6+400. Replacement of the pretiles of the oldest part, the one built more than 15 years ago.
- Upper passes of the N-603 at kilometre points 72+000 and 74+100 on the AP-61 road.
- Upper pass of the N-6 at kilometer point 67+110 and 67+175 on the link of El Espinar.
Work is currently under way on kilometre 6,400 of the SG-20 motorway and 74,100 of the N-603.
In both cases, these are complex works that require acting on structures with an age close to 20 years, whose containment systems present in their elements a level of corrosion with very significant section losses, mainly due to the circulation of water, with and without founding salts.
The deputy delegate of the Government, Marian Rueda, has visited the works together with the head of the Road Unit of Segovia, Enrique Arredondo, to check the state of the works.
The completion of the work during the last month of August on the link of the SG-20 on the A-601 motorway and at kilometer 67,150 of the N-6 has allowed its reopening to traffic improving road safety conditions and the quality of these infrastructures.
It is expected that during the next month of November the works on the SG-20 motorway will end, with the normal re-establishment of the circulation through the Valladolid road between its links with the CL-601 and SG-V-6123.
During the last phase of work, and because it coincides with the winter road period in which weather alerts can be produced for snow, the circulation conditions will be restored with a lane for each direction, limiting the alternative step currently implemented, to punctual work in working time at times with good weather conditions.
