October 4, 2023.- The deputy delegate of the Government, Marian Rueda, visited the headquarters of the Salary Guarantee Fund (Fogasa) and the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate, both of which are attached to the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.
The subdelegate has toured the facilities of these two agencies accompanied by the head of Fogasa in Segovia, Ángel González, and the head of the Labor Inspection, María Rodríguez. Marian Rueda has been interested in various aspects related to the functions of Fogasa and the Inspection in the province of Segovia.
Fogasa is an autonomous administrative body with legal personality and has attributed the payment to the workers of the salaries and indemnities that the companies for which they work have not been able to satisfy because they are in a legal situation of insolvency or because they have been declared in a competitive situation.
For its part, the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate, a State agency, is a public service responsible for monitoring compliance with social standards. This legislation is very broad and includes, among others, those relating to labour matters, prevention of occupational risks, social security and social protection, placement, employment, vocational training for employment and protection for unemployment, social economy, emigration, migratory movements and work of foreigners, equal treatment and opportunities and non-discrimination in employment, as well as any others attributed to it. It also performs advisory, technical assistance and, where appropriate, conciliation, mediation and arbitration functions.
The subdelegate of the Government has valued “the excellent work and professionalism with which the public employees of these two agencies carry out their work”.
