Unemployment in Castilla y León rose by 1,186 people in September and stood at 108,922
The number of members of the Social Security in Castilla y León amounted to 18,408 in the last year and reached 965,288
October 3, 2023.- The number of unemployed people registered in the Public Service of State Employment in Castilla y León at the end of the month of September increased by 1,186 (1.10%) with respect to the previous month following the usual growth trend, although moderating the increases that characterize this month.
The total is 108,922 people.
Compared to September 2022, year-on-year unemployment fell by 10,704 people (-8.95%).
The number of members of Social Security in Castilla y León has reached 965,288 this September. This figure represents a decrease of 0.29% (-2,795 affiliates) compared to the previous month, but an increase of almost 2% (18,408 affiliates) compared to the month of September 2022.
Unemployment by sector
By economic sectors compared to August, the registered unemployment fell in the Construction sector by 33 people (-0.50%) and in Agriculture by 205 people (-4.36%).
It rose in Services by 1,194 people (1.56%), in Industry by 46 people (0.53%) and also in the collective No Previous Employment by 184 people (1.62%).
Unemployment by sex and age
In September, female unemployment increased by 422 women (0.65%) to 65,723.
Male unemployment has risen by 764 men (1.77%) to a total of 43,199.
Unemployment among young people under 25 years of age rose in August by 941 people (11.98%) compared to the previous month and stood at 8,795.
Unemployment by province
Unemployment rises in all provinces with the exception of Segovia and Valladolid. In this way, in Ávila it increased by 195 people to 8,525 unemployed although the year-on-year decrease is -884 people; in Burgos the increase is 105 people, the number of unemployed is 14,143 and the year-on-year decrease is 1,177; in León the number of unemployed is 21,523 after an increase of 362 people although the year-on-year variation is -2,299.
Palencia has the largest year-on-year decline in all provinces, at -12.36%. In September the increase was 41 people, so now there are 6,433 unemployed. The increase in the number of unemployed in Salamanca was 336 people, an increase of 1.91% compared to the year-on-year decrease of 7.62%.
Soria had a relative increase of 1.97% compared to the previous month, and 52 individuals registered unemployment, so the number of people without work is fixed at 2,695 people. In international terms, unemployment fell by 7.96%.
In Segovia, the number of unemployed fell in relation to the month of September by 24 people, -0.47%, with the number of unemployed remaining at 5,127 and the year-on-year decrease being 9.37%; in Valladolid, unemployment fell by 294 people, -1.23% and an year-on-year decrease of 2,574 people.
Finally, in Zamora the increase compared to the previous month was 4.80%, with the number of unemployed in the province set at 9,011. In the year-on-year count, the decrease in unemployment is 620 people.
Unemployment in other autonomous communities
The unemployment recorded in September 2023 fell in 6 autonomous communities. In absolute terms, they benefit from this decline, especially in Catalonia (-3,440 people), the Canary Islands (-2,831 people) and the Basque Country (-1,933 people).
On the other hand, it rises in the remaining 11 communities with Andalusia (15,949 unemployed and more unemployed) at the head followed, at a distance, by the Community of Madrid (3,358 people unemployed) and Galicia (2,918 people unemployed) at the head.
Contracts
The total number of contracts registered during the month of September has been 67,264.
In September 2023, 25,031 employment contracts of an indefinite nature were registered, representing 37.61% of all contracts.
The contracts of a temporary nature registered in the month of September 2023 have been 42,233. They are 4,903 (-10.40%) less than the same month of the previous year. In the first nine months, 338,746 temporary contracts have been registered.
Benefits in the month of August
The number of beneficiaries existing at the end of August was 68,826, a figure similar to that of the same month of the previous year.
The total investment in August 2023 amounted to 77.7 million euros.
The average gross amount of the contribution benefit received per beneficiary during the month of August 2023 was 910.4 euros, which represents an increase of 10.6 euros over the same month of the previous year (1.18%).
