September 13, 2023.- National Police, Local and University of Burgos (UBU) have met again this morning in the Subdelegation of Government on the occasion of the beginning of the academic year with the aim of avoiding and preventing novatades and bottles.
To guide these actions, this meeting has been held one more year, which has been a fixed date for years due to the importance of the treaty, in which the accidental Secretary General, Ignacio Gutiérrez Camarero, participated; the accidental Chief Commissioner of the National Police, Benito Martínez; the Councilor for Security of the City of Burgos, Ignacio Peña; the Chief Intendant of the Local Police of Burgos, Félix Ángel García; the Rector of the UBU, Manuel Pérez Mateos, and the Vice Rector of Students, Verónica Calderón.
During the meeting, the participants agreed that thanks to the coordination resulting from the various meetings, the number of novices at the university level in Burgos has been reduced to a minimum. In addition, it has been demonstrated by all parties that collaboration between the administrations works and that all students and academic institutions must know that before this practice there must be ‘zero tolerance’, which in addition to infractions and sanctions, give rise to criminal behavior with criminal consequences.
The Subdelegation of the Government, University of Burgos, Burgos City Council and the Security Forces and Corps insist that this type of meetings serve to underpin coordination and the different devices to prevent behaviors that cannot be tolerated in today’s society and that must be eradicated. In addition, all those who may feel threatened by this type of practice have at their disposal the telephone 091 of the National Police.
