September 5, 2023.- The delegate of the Government in Castilla y León, Virginia Barcones, accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government in Valladolid, Alicia Villar, visits today the participants in the counterclockwork stage of La Vuelta in Valladolid, the 10th stage of the 78th edition of the cycling round to Spain, which proposes a route of 28.5 km. Through the streets of the city.
Barcones has highlighted the participation of the 284 agents of the State Security Forces and Bodies that form the security device of La Vuelta, essential for everything to develop as planned.
100 agents of the National Police protect all the facilities established by the organization as signature control, delivery of accreditations, parking of equipment, podium or doping control.
The Civil Guard has constituted a Mobility and Road Safety Unit (UMSV) composed of 134 agents (85 of the Traffic Group, 39 of the Reserve and Safety Group, 6 of the Air Service, 2 GAR/UAV, 2 Mobile Material Service), making use of 92 vehicles, of which 59 are motorcycles, which accompany La Vuelta throughout its route.
In addition, more than 50 agents, belonging to Citizen Security of the Territorial Units, USECIC (Citizen Security Unit) and the Traffic Subsector, support the UMSV in the province and the Operational Center of the Command (COC) is the nerve point of the transmissions of the entire operation in the province.
Parque Vuelta
At the end of the stage, in the ‘Parque Vuelta’ located in the Acera de Recoletos you can visit the stand of the National Police in which agents of different units such as Citizen Security, Scientific Police or TEDAX-NRBQ, will show the public part of the work they do daily, dedicating especially to the children a demonstration of their works. The Civil Guard also has a stand with an exhibition of media and specific material with which agents of different specialties work, with free access for all the public.
The day after this time trial, La Vuelta arrives in Soria, specifically in La Laguna Negra, Vinuesa. And in the 19th stage, on September 15 the runners arrive in Íscar where as in Soria there will be a stand of the National Police located in the ‘Parque Vuelta’ where the public can participate in the demonstrations of the agents of Citizen Security and Scientific Police.
