Over a period of four years
September 28, 2023.- Adif will allocate 12.3 million euros to the integral management of civil protection facilities in tunnels of several high-speed lines -most of them in the northwestern peninsular-, such as those of Chamartín-Torrejón de Velasco, Madrid-Alicante-León, Venta de Bathrooms-Burgos and Olmedo-Zamora-Pedralba.
Areas of operation include lighting, fire extinguishing, comprehensive electronic safety system and aeration/pressurization systems in galleries and emergency exits. In addition, there will be maintenance of emergency signalling and marking facilities, access doors to emergency exits, offices, warehouses, galleries, rooms and technical premises and ventilation/extraction systems in offices, premises and technical rooms.
In addition, it includes the comprehensive management of the facilities of ventilation/overpressure systems in tunnels, power distribution, pumping systems and emergency communications systems, among others.
The actions will be carried out for four years (2023-2027) by the companies Telephones, Lines and Power Plants, Cobra Facilities and Services and Moncobra.
The contract provides for any extension that occurs in the facilities, by the implementation of new lines or railway sections that have direct connection with the initially contemplated sections or to functional changes in those sections. These extensions may not exceed 15% of km of tunnels in relation to the total included in the contract.
These actions contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9, which aims to promote reliable, sustainable and quality infrastructures.
