August 31, 2023.- The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 30,183 households in Castilla y León in which 87,102 people live, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), until the end of August. This benefit, which is paid by the Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since, of the total number of beneficiaries, 43% are minors (37,742). In addition, if we consider the number of households, in more than 65% there is at least one minor (19,894).
According to these data, in two out of almost every three households the benefit holder is a woman and, if the total number of beneficiaries is taken into account, 54 per cent are women (47,065).
With regard to the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), they have already reached 17,639. The ICSC, which entered into force in January 2022, is an aid of 115 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; of 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and of 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.
