DISPLACEMENT FORECASTS
On Thursday 31, especially between 19 and 22 hours, there will begin to be high intensities of circulation in the direction of return and retentions in the main roads of communication that channel all the movement from the areas of the coast and rest to the large urban centers. Already on Friday 1, between 17 and 22 hours, there will be high intensities of circulation in the direction of departure from the big cities and in the main communication channels of access to the coastal and rest tourist areas, along with the usual weekend areas, also in the direction of departure, mainly to coastal areas and second residence.
On Saturday morning, between 10 and 14 hours, intense traffic will continue in the direction of departure for the beginning of both the weekend and the holiday month of September towards tourist areas of coast and rest, movements that will join the usual summer weekend of short distance to areas of second residence and beaches and, already in the afternoon, to those returning to the large urban centers of those who have finished their holidays and make a staggered return.
Sunday will be the last day of the return of both those who end their holidays and those who have enjoyed the weekend, so between 16 and 23 hours, high traffic intensities and traffic problems will be presented on the main roads of communication that channel all the return movement from the coastal areas and rest to the big cities. In addition, there will also be high traffic intensities on the axes of communication with border crossings due to the return movements of vehicles of foreign registration to their European countries of origin.
For all this, the DGT recommends as always to plan trips in advance and, if possible, avoid the most unfavorable hours.
SPECIAL DEVICE
With all this flow of vehicles on the road, the DGT has established a series of traffic regulation, management and monitoring measures, with the aim of facilitating the mobility and fluidity of the different road users and ensuring the safety of all of them, among which stand out:
- The installation of additional and reversible rails with cones in the moments of greater traffic flow and on the main roads of access to the large cities.
- The restriction of the movement of vehicles of dangerous goods, special transport and trucks in general and to those who transport certain goods in certain sections, dates and times.
- The paralysis of the works on the roads and limitation to the celebration of sports tests and other events that suppose the occupation of the road.
- The design of alternative itineraries recommended according to origin and destination, with distances and travel times and, in some cases avoiding the central area, which is the one that presents the most circulatory intensity.
These measures are supplemented, as usual, by the maximum availability of the human resources available to the Agency: agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard, staff of the Northern Traffic Management Centre and personnel responsible for maintaining equipment and installing measures on the road, in addition to personnel of the emergency services, in Castilla y León the material resources: 86 fixed speed control radars, of which 24 are section radars, mobile radars that can be loaded into ATGC vehicles, 24 mobile control cameras and belt. In Castilla y León there is also a helicopter and drones for surveillance from the air and unmarked vehicles and motorcycles that will circulate on all types of roads in order to check the correct behavior of drivers during driving.

BACK IN THE BEST ROAD SAFETY CONDITIONS
At the end of August, it is advisable to prepare the return home in the best road safety conditions for which, the General Directorate of Traffic recommends:
- Schedule the most suitable time for the realization of the trip, choosing, as much as possible, the time in which we are accustomed to driving and avoiding traveling at night or after a tired day of beach or mountain. Night driving causes fatigue and drowsiness in the unused driver.
- Likewise, before going on a trip, take a breakfast or a light meal, avoiding accompanying you with large doses of stimulating drinks, as well as the consumption of those medicines that diminish attention or cause drowsiness.
- Of course, never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, nor let someone who has done so get behind the wheel. The only safe rate is 0.0%.
- Before and during the trip, inform yourself of the state of the roads through the twitter accounts @informacionDGT and @DGTes, of the news bulletins on radio and television, as well as on the phone 011, to be able to avoid unforeseen events and use the alternative itineraries proposed if necessary.
- With regard to the vehicle, before taking the route, check at least the correct functioning of the lights and the tyre pressure, and ensure the correct placement of all luggage, allowing at all times maximum visibility of the driver and not placing objects on the rear tray of the vehicle that may cause damage in case of sudden braking.
- While driving, always be cautious keeping your attention at all times and respecting the rules of circulation: speed, safety distance, belt and SRI for all passengers, etc.
