August 28, 2023.- The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Soria, Miguel Latorre, and the Mayor of Almazán, Jesús Cedazo, presided this morning a meeting of the Local Security Board developed in the Adnamantino City Council to coordinate the Local Police and the Civil Guard regarding the good development of the patron festivities of "la Bajada de Jesús".
Along with the heads of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, the head of the Civil Protection section of the territorial delegation of the JCyL, Fernando Arribas, also participated in the meeting.
The subdelegate of the Government recalled at the meeting that the Plan of Prevention, Protection and Anti-Terrorist Response for the current Level "4" of activation is still in force. It has also stressed that the Civil Guard will be very attentive to any event of male violence, for which purpose personnel specialized in this matter will be displaced to the locality, with which the Local Police will be coordinated.
In this regard, the subdelegate of the Government has pointed out that during this summer the campaign "Ser Libre" is being carried out. Be Alive. Spain", which has among its objectives to raise awareness against the different forms of violence against women, identify and denounce all forms of violence and report on the different comprehensive care services that victims have at their disposal. This campaign highlights the importance of the telephone service for comprehensive care of victims 016, 24-hour crisis centres, free legal assistance, psychological care, the work of the State Security Forces and Bodies or the importance of women’s networks, highlighting all policies to prevent and accompany victims of all forms of male violence.
The patronal festivities begin institutionally with the proclamation, at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday 30, and are declared of Regional Tourist Interest by the night procession of the Bajada de Jesús Nazareno to its hermitage on Sunday, September 3; a rite that is complemented by a show of pyrotechnics at the passage of the procession through the Plaza Mayor, an event that has been one of the points treated especially in this Local Security Board.
Other special focuses of attention have focused on the 52nd Villa de Almazán Cycling Award, public dances during the early hours of the morning, bullfighting and bullfighting.
