These days will coincide on the road the displacements of vehicles generated by the beginning of the holiday month of August, long-distance displacements in the direction of departure from the large urban centers, with those of return of those who end their holidays in the month of July, in addition to the usual displacements of departure/return for the weekend of the summer period.
For this reason, during these days Traffic has established a series of traffic regulation, management and surveillance measures in order to provide security coverage for the millions of short and long distance journeys planned.
To cover this operation and make all these movements safe, Traffic has the maximum availability of its human resources: agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard, official staff of the Traffic Management Center and personnel responsible for the maintenance of equipment and the installation of measures on the road, in addition to the personnel of the emergency services.
With regard to material resources, the DGT in Castilla y León has 86 fixed speed control radars, of which 24 are of course, 97 mobile radars that can be loaded into ATGC vehicles, 24 cameras and camouflaged vans to control the use of mobile phones and seat belts. The DGT also has helicopters and drones for surveillance from the air and with unmarked vehicles and motorcycles that will circulate on all types of roads in order to check the correct behavior of drivers during driving.
TRAFFIC FORECASTS AND MEASUREMENTS
Traffic forecasts show that the largest increase in vehicles will take place from Friday afternoon, mainly between 16 and 23 hours, which will cause high intensities and traffic problems in the exits of large cities, as well as in the main communication routes of access to the tourist areas of the coast and rest. To these movements in the direction of departure at the beginning of the August holidays will be added those that will take place at the beginning of the summer weekend.
On Saturday morning (from 9 to 14 hours) will continue the intense traffic of departure from the urban centers and in itineraries that link populations of coast, beaches and access to the coast, as well as areas of second residence that may have problems of circulation and retention in their accesses. In the evening you can also observe return movements to the big cities of those who end their holidays in July and advance their return to this day.
On Sunday morning, the access to the coast and the roads that link coastal towns with access to beaches will be conflictive and, already in the afternoon, especially between 18 and 23 hours, the return will begin both of those who have enjoyed the summer weekend, and of those who end their holidays in the month of July presenting high traffic intensities and circulation problems in the main roads that channel all the return movement from the tourist areas of the coast, rest and second residences, to the accesses of the large urban centers.
On Monday 31 will coincide the usual entry/exit movements of the large cities of a working day, with exit movements (between 19 and 22) for the beginning of the holiday month of August.
Finally, on Tuesday, August 1, there could be more traffic intensity in the direction of departure (from 9 to 17 hours) by the beginning on this day of the tourist season of apartments, hotels and places of residence of this month, which will join the usual entry / exit at rush hour because it is a working day.
As is common in special traffic operations, with the aim of promoting traffic in the most sensitive areas, reversible and additional lanes with cones will be installed in the hours of greatest traffic flow and alternative routes will be established. Likewise, the works on the roads will be paralyzed, the celebration of sports tests and other events that suppose the occupation of the road will be limited and the circulation of trucks in general and those who transport certain goods in certain sections, dates and times will be restricted.

TO BETTER PREPARE THE TRIP
Traffic recommends scheduling the travel plan in advance, avoiding, if possible, the days of mass travel and the most unfavorable hours and driving preferably during the morning or afternoon, avoiding the night as night driving produces fatigue and drowsiness.
Before embarking on the journey, it is advisable to carry out a complete overhaul of the vehicle, checking at least the lighting, the state of the brakes and the tyres.
During the trip, the traffic situation can be reported in real time, as well as any incidents that may exist in the twitter accounts @informacionDGT and @DGTes, in the newsletters on radio and television and on the phone 011.
