The Minimum Vital Income reaches 83,164 people in Castilla y León
Throughout the State, 1.86 million benefit from this aid aimed at reducing poverty in Spanish households
June 30, 2023.- The Minimum Vital Income (IMV), has reached 83,164 people from Castilla y León since its launch in June 2020 until today. According to statistical data published by the National Social Security Institute (INSS), almost 40% of these, 36,997, have been minors. Across the state as a whole, IMV has reached 1.86 million people. Of the 83,164 people to whom the IMV arrived in Castilla y León, 54%, 44,962 people, were women.
The Minimum Vital Income aid reached 28,924 households in the Community of 65%, in particular in 18,884, there was at least one minor. In addition, 65 per cent of these households, 18,242, were in the name of a woman. By province, in León it was where households received assistance, namely 6,398. The distribution by households receiving the IMV was as follows: Ávila (2.418), Burgos (2.979), Palencia (2.107), Salamanca 4.616, Segovia (1.686), Soria (602), Valladolid (5.697), and Zamora (2.421).
Regarding the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), there are already 16,702. The ICSC, which entered into force in January 2022, is an aid of 115 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; of 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and of 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.
At the national level, the Minimum Living Income has reached 646,084 households in which 1,868,172 people live until the end of June. This benefit, which is paid by the Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since, of the total number of beneficiaries, 43% are minors (808,270). In addition, if we consider the number of households, in almost 67% there is at least one minor (435,369).
According to these data, in two out of three households the benefit holder is a woman and, if the total number of beneficiaries is taken into account, 54 per cent are women (1,010,939). Regarding the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), there are already 383,053 households reached throughout Spain.
