June 27, 2023.- Expenditure on contributory pensions stands at 11.7% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the last 12 months, until June.
The monthly payroll of the Social Security contributory benefits was 11,997.2 million euros, as of June 1, for the payment of 10,040,732 pensions. The average pension of the system amounts to 1,194.9 euros per month, with a year-on-year increase of 9.6%.
In Castilla y León, there were 620,422 pensions paid this June (6.18% of those paid throughout the State), amounting to a total of more than 739 million euros. This puts the average pension at 1192.42 euros in Castilla y León, which represents an increase of 9.86% compared to June 2022.
Extra pay
In June, along with the ordinary payroll, pensioners are paid the extraordinary payment, the amount of which this year reaches 11,694.9 million euros, 11% more than in 2022.
More than 10 million pensions (10,019,750) receive the extra pay, with an average amount of 1,167.2 euros, 9.9% more than on the same date last year.
The extraordinary pay is paid to all the pensions with the exception of those derived from work accidents and occupational diseases, in 12 payments, since the extras are prorated in the ordinary monthly payments.
In the case of Castilla y León, the total number of pensions that will receive the extraordinary pay in the month of June is 619,244. The average amount of this extraordinary payment is 1161.69 euros.
Distribution according to pension class
Nearly three-quarters of June’s contributory pension payroll went to retirement pensions, namely 72.9%, or €8,740.3 million. A total of Euro2,002.2 million has been earmarked for widowhood pensions, while the payroll for permanent disability benefits amounts to Euro1,059.8 million, for orphanhood benefits to Euro163.4 million and for family benefits to Euro31.6 million.
Of the 10,040,732 contributory pensions paid, 6,357,104 are for retirement, 2,350,589 for widows, 946,559 for permanent disability, 341,443 for orphans and 45,037 for relatives. The number of pensions grows at a year-on-year rate of 1%.
For its part, the number of pensioners is 9,092,868 as of June 1. Of these, 4.6 million are men and 4.5 million women. The proportion of pensions per pensioner is 1.1 benefits per person.
The main pension is the retirement pension for 6.2 million people. Of these, 60.4% are perceived by men. The widow ' s pension is received as the main benefit by 1.5 million people, 96 per cent of whom are women. They are followed by those with permanent disability (941,586), orphanhood (323,870) and relatives (44,373).
In Castilla y León, the distribution of pensions according to their class has been as follows:
- 45,578 permanent disability pensions
- 401,490 retirement pensions
- 150,261 pensions for widowhood
- 19.205 Pensions for orphanhood
- 3,888 pensions in favour of family members
Average Pension
The average pension of the system amounts to 1,194.9 euros per month. This amount includes the different types of pension (retirement, permanent disability, widowhood, orphanhood and in favour of family members).
The average retirement pension of the system, for its part, is 1,374.9 euros. By system, the average retirement pension from the General System is 1,532.7 euros per month, while the lowest is registered by the Autonomous System, 915.6 euros per month. In Coal Mining, the average monthly retirement is 2,680.7 euros, and it is 1,523.9 euros in the Regime of the Sea. The average amount of new retirement increases in the system amounted in the month of May 2023 (last data) to 1,352.3 euros per month.
For its part, the average widow’s pension is 851.8 euros per month.
The average settlement time for the files in May (last available) was 10.4 days for the retirement pension and 16.4 days for widows’ pensions. It must be taken into account that the maximum period of resolution in these procedures, according to RD 286/2003 of March 7 and RD 1192/2021, of August 3, is 90 days in both retirement and widow’s benefits.
The average pension in Castilla y León is 1,192.42 euros. By class the pensions, the averages are 1,118.84 euros for pensions for permanent disability; 1,367.49 euros for retirement; 845.78 euros for widows; 516.18 euros for orphans; and 713.78 euros for family pensions.
Gender Gap Plugins
As of June 1, 518,183 pensions have received the gender gap supplement (of the total, 473,550 are for women, 91.4%). The average monthly amount of this supplement in the pension is 65.8 euros. Of the 518,183 supplementary pensions, 22.7% are pensioners with one child (117,572), who previously did not have access to the maternity supplement. 47.1% of the beneficiaries have two children (244,028); 19.5% have three children (101,042), and four children have 10.7% (55,541).
The gender gap supplement, in force since February 2021, consists of a fixed amount, after the revaluation applied in 2023, of 30.40 euros per month per child, which applies from the first child, unlike the previous maternity supplement. It is requested at the same time as the pension is requested.
The pensions complemented by gender gap in Castilla y León have been 32,083, with an average monthly amount of 67 euros. 23.16% correspond to pensioners with one child (7,430); 46.16% to pensioners with two children (14,810). 18.93% of the supplemented pensions were for pensioners with 3 children (6,072) and, finally, 11.75% were for pensioners with 4 children, assuming a total of 3,771 pensions.
Passive Classes
For its part, the monthly pension payroll of Passive Classes amounted to 1,472.4 million euros in the month of May, the last available data.
The number of pensions in force was 694,838, 11,467 more pensions than in the same month of the previous year (1.7% annual variation).
The Passive Class System of the State includes primarily military and civilian personnel of the General Administration of the State, the Administration of Justice, the General Courts and other constitutional or State bodies, as well as officials transferred to the autonomous communities.
