June 22, 2023.- The Security Board has today finalized the device for the fairs and parties of San Juan and San Pedro de Segovia.
At the meeting, held this morning in the Government Subdelegation, the security operation for these festivities has been closed, whose main events are inaugurated tomorrow and will be closed on June 30.
In the meeting, chaired by the accidental deputy delegate, Francisco Javier de Santos, participated the councilor for Public Security, Raquel Alonso; the councilor for Culture, Juan Carlos Monroy; the commissioner of the National Police, Miguel Ángel Martínez; the commander of the Civil Guard, José Ángel Giro; the head of the Local Police of Segovia, Vicente Sanz; the head of firefighters of Segovia, José Luis del Pozo; Civil Protection of the Territorial Delegation of the Junta de Castilla and León’s Unit.
The security device will focus on the places and events that most people gather, such as the inauguration, the verbenas and musical performances and the fireworks.
The National Police will collaborate with the Local Police, and the Civil Guard within their competences, so that citizens can enjoy the festivities of Segovia. In this regard, the National Police will intensify its preventive work, while advising caution for possible thefts and theft of carelessness in places with greater crowds of people.
The Civil Guard, for its part, will establish traffic controls on alcohol and drugs at the entrances of the city of Segovia, to prevent drivers from circulating under the effects of these substances.
The Security Board has again stressed that the use of glasses and glass bottles in the street will not be allowed, and agents will monitor the access to the spaces where the festivities are held so that these effects are not introduced, as well as the forums to prevent incidents.
