June 21, 2023.- The Operations Command of the Civil Guard, Lieutenant General Félix Blázquez, presided this morning the event held on the occasion of the inauguration of Colonel Andrés Manuel Velarde Tazón as the new Chief of the Command of Valladolid.
More than 30 years of service
Colonel Andrés Manuel Velarde, takes charge of the command of the Command of Valladolid. Colonel Velarde’s last destination has been the Soria Command, where he has been in command for the past 9 years.
Andrés Velarde, joined the Military Academy of Zaragoza in 1989, obtaining the employment of Lieutenant of the Civil Guard in 1994.
Among the destinations in which it has served since its departure from the Academy are the Rural Security Group, Judicial Police Unit and Fiscal Investigation Units and the Headquarters of Operations in Teruel and under the command of the Soria Command.
Colonel Velarde Tazón holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration and Management, a University Master’s Degree in Business Management, a Master’s Degree in Personnel Management and Security Talent Management, and has been honoured with numerous civil and military decorations, both national and foreign, including the Cross of Military Merit, the Cross, the Commendation and the Plaque of the Royal and Military Order of San Hermenegildo, the Order of Civil Merit, and numerous other commendations.
Valladolid Civil Guard Command
The Civil Guard in Valladolid is responsible for the citizen security of 224 municipalities in this province. It is organized into 3 Companies, 2 Main Posts and 22 Ordinary Posts, covering the security of 96% of about 200,000 citizens, for which they have more than 800 troops.
The Command of Valladolid, to serve its entire demarcation, has units of Citizen Security, Traffic, USECIC, Information, Judicial Police, Cinological Service, Seprona, Weapons Intervention and GEDEX, Fiscal Unit and Borders among others.
The Civil Guard also has 3 ROCA teams, 1 team @, 3 VIOGEN teams, 1 PEGASO team, 1 REDO team.
