02 de June de 2023.- The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Valladolid, Alicia Villar, visited today, after the inauguration of the 56th Feria del Libro de Valladolid, the 46th house of the National Geographic Institute -IGN-, dependent of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and in charge of the official cartography of Spain, with competences also in seismology, volcanology, geodesy, gravimetry and official territorial limits.
Villar has been able to know the latest news that the IGN presents at this fair, such as the possibility for users to order an à la carte map of the locality or localities they choose. It is requested at the stand and the public employees who attend it cite the interested party to collect the requested map - which has a price of 6.50 euros - already printed in a few hours.
The National Geographic Institute also presents its latest publications such as the book on the National Parks of Spain, the new guide to the Camino Lebaniego or the map of Las Hoces del Río Riaza.
In addition, the reedition of the Atlas del Cielo by Fernando Martín Asín can be purchased at the fair, a publication that had been sold out due to its success in demand in Valladolid.
Also available at the fair are the latest Nature Maps - Neila, Laguna Negra and Urbión, Las Batuecas - Sierra de Francia and the Sierra de Guadarrama -; the latest Leisure Maps of cities and their surroundings, such as Lugo, Zaragoza, León and Ávila; and the book on the History of Cartography and the evolution of maps.
