May 23, 2023.- The municipalities of Dueñas and Venta de Baños have welcomed this morning the signing of their respective Operational Procedures of Coordination and Collaboration between the Civil Guard of Palencia and the consistory of each of these localities in order to guarantee compliance with the judicial measures of protection to the victims of Gender Violence.

The protocol, promoted by the Subdelegation of the Government, has been initialled within the framework of the Local Security Boards by the mayors of both municipalities, Miguel Ángel Blanco and José María L. Acero, and the lieutenant colonel head of the Palencia Command, Rafael Campos, with the presence of the subdelegate of the Government in the province, Ángel D. Miguel.

In the province of Palencia, and promoted by the Violence against Women Unit of the Government Subdelegation in Palencia and the municipalities themselves, six municipalities have been joined to incorporate the Local Police Corps into the Comprehensive Monitoring System for Cases of Gender Violence: Aguilar de Campoo, Villamuriel de Cerrato, Guardo, Dueñas, Venta de Baños and the Palentine capital.

The purpose of the agreement is to establish the coordination, as well as operational criteria and necessary channels of communication between the State Security Forces and Bodies and the Local Police Corps of the different Municipalities contributing
Thus to guarantee the execution and follow-up of the judicial measures agreed for the protection of victims of gender violence domiciled in their respective municipal terms.

The signed documents stipulate the criteria for coordination between the Local Police and the Civil Guard Post of each locality and determine the guidelines to be followed in those actions derived from cases of Gender Violence. At the same time, the criteria for communication and coordination with other institutions and agencies involved are established. The fundamental premises of the proceedings will be the guarantee of protection for the victim and the coordinated exercise of the powers of each police force acting in each case.

In the scenario described, the investigation of the incident and the investigation of the incident will be the responsibility of the State Security Forces and Corps, with the Local Police acting in the prevention proceedings and any actions that tend to prevent the commission of criminal acts within the framework of cooperation established in the Security Board.

The validity of these protocols will be four years. Before the end of this term, the Subdelegation of the Government and the Municipalities of Dueñas and Venta de Baños may agree, expressly and in writing, to extend it for another four additional years.

According to the latest data provided by the Ministry of the Interior, there are currently a total of 295 active cases in the province of Palencia in which police measures are necessary. In the municipality of Venta de Baños this figure is of a total of 16 active cases and in that of Dueñas of 5, according to the VioGén System. The search for collaboration between institutions at the various administrative levels against violence against women is part of the commitment of the Government of Spain to fight this social scourge and the protection of victims, within the framework of the State Pact on Gender Violence and Organic Law 1/2004.
