May 19, 2023.- The subdelegate of the Government in Burgos, Pedro de la Fuente, presided this morning an event in which, on the occasion of the celebration of Private Security Day, a recognition has been made - by the National Police and Civil Guard - 30 professionals of that sector that employs more than 1,700 people in the province.
During his speech, the subdelegate stressed that “security is one of the primary pillars of society that must develop in freedom and equality, and in that conviction, private security is considered an indispensable part of the set of measures aimed at protection.”
In addition, De la Fuente has valued “that good relationship and coordination with the National Police and Civil Guard to maintain a high level of security in the province of Burgos and as a result generate employment in an expanding sector”. The subdelegate stressed that “both strategic sectors for our province and critical infrastructures have a dependency on private security such as the Garoña nuclear power plant, the National Currency and Stamp Factory or the passenger stations.”
“We talk about farms, banking institutions, gambling establishments, shopping centers, sports competitions, hospitals, hotels, nightlife venues and monuments visited by tourism becoming, in the current level 4 of reinforced anti-terrorist alert, sensitive points to be protected, first of all, by private security,” concluded De la Fuente.
In this commemoration, established almost a decade ago, an honorary plaque has been awarded to Alfonso Tapia Frías, as a distinction to his long professional career in private security and former representative of the Professional Association of Private Security Services Companies ‘APROSER’ of Castilla y León. In this last case, we wanted to highlight the award for his professional and constant work in the sector, as well as his total collaboration with the National Police.
In addition, 30 honorable mentions have been given to security directors, private security guards, rural guards and technicians, who - over the last year - have stood out for their excellent professional work, taking into account the special dangerousness, professional initiative or social significance. His work, also carried out in coordination with the Civil Guard and the National Police Force, has prevented criminal acts and contributed to fighting for the rights and freedoms of citizens.
The event was also attended by the head of the Central Private Security Unit of the National Police, Chief Commissioner Manuel Yanguas; the lieutenant colonel head of the Civil Guard Command of Burgos, Alfonso Martín; and the representative of the Professional Association of Private Security Service Companies APROSER, Rosa María Rodríguez.
Also attending the celebration of Private Security Day, the Superior Prosecutor of Justice of Castilla y León, Santiago Mena; the territorial delegate of the Junta de Castilla y León in Burgos, Roberto Saiz; the provincial commissioner of National Police in Burgos, Jesús Nogales; and the subdelegate of Defense in Burgos, Colonel Francisco de Asís; among other civil and military authorities.
