May 17, 2023.- This morning the Local Security Board of the municipality of El Burgo de Osma-Ciudad de Osma was held, co-chaired by the deputy delegate of Government, Miguel Latorre, and its mayor, Antonio Pardo, to coordinate the competent actions related to the celebration of the Municipal Elections of May 28.
Within these necessary actions, the aspects related to the security of the electoral process, aimed at generating the appropriate framework for them to develop in a peaceful, safe and orderly manner, thus avoiding acts aimed at disturbing the development of the legitimate exercise of the fundamental right to political participation, are of particular relevance.
The deputy delegate of the Government, Miguel Latorre, has indicated that, to the usual actions foreseen in the Plan of Prevention, Protection and Anti-Terrorist Response for the current Level “4” of activation, it is appropriate to add some measures of reinforcement.
In this Local Security Board, which has been held in the Burgense City Council, in addition to the co-chairs of this body, the heads of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, as well as a representative of the Territorial Delegation of the JCyL in Soria, have been present.
May 28, 2023 Municipal Elections
Since the publication on April 4, 2023 of Royal Decree 207/2023, of April 3, which calls for local elections for May 28, 2023, the different Administrations prepare the necessary infrastructure for the day of municipal elections to pass normally.
The Local Security Board of El Burgo de Osma has studied the device to be developed with the necessary personal means corresponding to the Civil Guard and the Local Police to ensure a normal development of the electoral campaign, as well as the free exercise of the right to vote of the citizens on Sunday, May 28.
In the municipality of El Burgo de Osma there are 6 polling stations and 4 polling stations (Colegio Público Manuel Ruiz Zorrilla, on University Street, Centro de la Elderly on Eleta Street, Centro Cultural San Agustín on Calle Mayor and, in Osma, the Casa de Servicios Multiples on Calle Real).
In this municipality there are 3,845 registered voters in the census closed on March 1. The municipality is made up of the following population centers: The Burgo de Osma, Osma, Alcubilla del Marqués, Barcebal, Barcebalejo, Berzosa, La Olmeda, La Rasa, Lodares de Osma, Santiuste, Torralba del Burgo, Valdelubiel, Valdenarros and Vildé.
For these population centers, the Government Subdelegation has contracted a transportation service so that voters who need it and demand it can deposit their vote at the corresponding polling stations.
