May 28, 2023 Municipal Elections
Since the publication on April 4, 2023 of Royal Decree 207/2023, of April 3, which calls for local elections for May 28, 2023, the different administrations prepare the necessary infrastructure for the day of municipal elections to pass normally.
The Security Board has studied the device with the personal means corresponding to the Security Forces and Bodies together with the Local Police necessary to ensure a normal development of the electoral campaign, as well as the right to vote of the citizens on Sunday, May 28. In Soria capital there are 14 electoral venues and 48 electoral tables distributed by the municipality.
Feast of St. John 2023
The most immediate dates are the celebration of the Catapán, Desenconamiento, the Lavalenguas and, finally, La Pago before the beginning of the five days of the holidays. Among the aspects dealt with is the habilitation of a third lane on the N-234, marking this road with cones and that has already been delimited previous years with good results. All those present have also agreed on the need to remember the placement of a temporary fence in the parking area and on the control of the access points for the passage of authorized vehicles and the maintenance of open emergency exits, due to possible incidents in the days of more influx of Sanjuaneros.
The different groups have confirmed that the material and human devices and means will be maintained, the control of the unauthorized caballistas will be intensified, coordination between all the bodies will prevail and Jinetes Canyon of the Cavalry Squadron of the Civil Guard of Valdemoro will be present. Although the recommendations will continue to be insisted on, we also remember the ban on accompanying cattle with motorcycles on the festival of Thursday La Saca and the importance of respecting animals as much as possible during all popular days.
In today’s meeting, the responsibility of the Sanjuaneros and Sanjuaneras in the festivities in the interior of the Cañada has also been invoked and maximum caution has been requested from all citizens and collaboration for the non-incident development of the festivities.
The Local Security Board is the body that coordinates the National, Municipal, Civil Guard and Firefighters police, the work of these professionals will be aimed above all at preserving the security of the citizens.
At the meeting of the Local Security Board, which was held in the City of Soria, were present, in addition to the co-chairs of this body, the heads of the National Police Force, the Civil Guard, the Local Police and the Firemen and the Secretary General of the Territorial Delegation of the Junta de Castilla y León in Soria.
Use of drones
We also call on citizens to avoid the use of remotely piloted aircraft, known as drones, because of the security risks they can entail when groups of the population overfly. In this regard, he recalled that in Spain the use of drones for civil applications is not allowed as commercial or professional purposes.
The State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) is the entity responsible for controlling the use of manned aircraft by remote control in Spain in the field of law and security. The indications of this agency make it clear that drones can not fly over urban centers, nor over population groups (for example, the concentration in Cañada Honda in the pre-Christmas festivities and in La Saca).
