Toledo.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, has highlighted “the professionalism, rigour, loyalty, spirit of sacrifice, honesty and determination to help others”, of the Civil Guard.
In an act carried out in the Headquarters of the second zone of the Civil Guard of Castilla-La Mancha, on the occasion of the festivity of the Virgen del Pilar and the National Festival, which he co-chaired together with the Acting Colonel Chief of the second zone of the Civil Guard in the region, Jesús Manuel Rodrigo, Sabrido has abundant in these values as he teaches of the benemérita.
There, the government delegate thanked the Civil Guard for their “work, commitment, professionalism, closeness and humanity”, as well as “for effectively carrying out the mission entrusted to you by Article 104 of the Constitution 2 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, providing answers to what citizens need to strengthen the welfare state”.
“You are a guarantee that no citizen is too far away to receive the protection of the State”
The delegate has reviewed a series of experiences during these nine months in office, in which he has shared extraordinary situations with the Civil Guard, such as scorching or fires, highlighting that “the Civil Guard was always complying with the card of the Grand Duke of Ahumada”: “In the avenues of rivers, hurricanes, earthquakes or any other calamity, they will provide all the services available to those who are involved in these evils.”
However, Sabrido wanted to highlight that the Civil Guard is also present in the daily life of the citizens of Castilla-La Mancha: “A large, diverse community with a very particular territorial reality, with 919 municipalities, the vast majority small, with great distances and large rural areas.”
In this sense, the delegate has valued the closeness of the body with the neighbor and that “the citizen knows that he is not alone”: “Remote places where the first ones, and sometimes the only ones, arrive to help and respond to the farmer with problems, the woman who needs protection, the citizen who calls because he has a setback, the elderly person who needs help, the mountaineer or hiker who has been lost and requires a rescue, even at the risk of the integrity of the Civil Guard”.
“You are backed by an extraordinary story of men who have given their best for the benefit of others”
On the other hand, Sabrido wanted to praise the public service work carried out by the Civil Guard, “people who have assumed from the beginning a way of life, of responsibility, of sacrifice and service to others.”
In addition, he has reminded those who lost their lives “victims of terrorism or in an act of service” and has shown his firm conviction that “you will continue to take pride in your commitment to service, responsibility, help”, the history of the Civil Guard.
