Sabrido presents the Mobility and Road Safety Unit for the II Cycling Tour to Castilla-La Mancha LEADER

The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, has presented the safety device of the II Cycling Tour to Castilla-La Mancha LEADER.
The main novelty is the incorporation of a Mobility and Road Safety Unit, composed of 37 people in total
Sigüenza (Guadalajara).- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, has presented the safety device of the II Cycling Tour to Castilla-La Mancha LEADER.
The main novelty is the incorporation of a Mobility and Road Safety Unit, composed of 37 people in total. 27 of them correspond to the traffic sector of the Second Zone of the Civil Guard and ten to citizen security, corresponding to different Commanders.
The main objective of the Mobility and Road Safety Unit is to guarantee safety and public order throughout the race, especially in those areas such as departures and arrivals with the greatest number of visitors, and critical points of the route.
In the presentation ceremony, held in the Plaza Mayor of Sigüenza, the delegate was accompanied by the mayor of the town of Alcarreña, María Jesús Merino, the interim chief colonel of the II area of the Civil Guard, Jesús Manuel Rodrigo, José Juan Fernandez, general director of rural development of the Junta de Comunidad o Sonsoles Rico, provincial delegate of Finance, Public Administrations and Digital Transformation of the regional government in Guadalajara, among other authorities.
There, Sabrido has highlighted the work of the Civil Guard in security matters, which plays “a fundamental role” in the defense of “the rights and freedoms of the Spanish”, as well as the “coordination of the Local Police, which will be essential in the steps through the localities, and the services of volunteers of Civil Protection, who will also collaborate”.
About the II Cycling Tour to Castile-La Mancha LEADER
The II Cycling Tour to Castilla-La Mancha LEADER will consist of seven stages between 7 and 13 August and will start with the two female stages. On August 7, the stage will begin in Sigüenza and end in Cifuentes, while the stage on August 8 will start in Sacedón and end in Beteta, all in the province of Guadalajara.
As for the male stages, on August 9, it will leave Tarancón and end in Quintanar del Rey; on August 10 it will begin in Tarazona de la Mancha and end in Agramón; on August 11 it will depart from Torre de Juan Abad and end in Almadén; on August 12 it will have its initial point in Argamasilla de Calatrava and its goal in Inheritance; while on August 13, it will start in Tembleque and end in Manzanares.
In total, 1,004 kilometres will be covered and will pass through 102 municipalities in the five provinces of Castilla-La Mancha. A tour that, for the government delegate, “has a great sporting value and also a great territorial, symbolic value, of an eminently rural autonomous community”.
Cyclists will tour the regions of the Rural Development Groups ADEL Sierra Norte, Molina de Aragón-Alto Tajo and FADETA, in the province of Guadalajara; PRODESE, ADESIMAN and ADIMAN, in the province of Cuenca; Mancha Júcar-Centro, SACAM and Campos de Hellín, in the province of Albacete; Tierras de Libertad, Campo de Calatrava, Valle de Alcudia, Montesur, Alto Guadiana-Norte province and Dulea.
For this reason, Sabrido has thanked the Cycling Federation of Spain and Castilla-La Mancha, the Board of Communities and the Rural Development groups of the autonomous community for their efforts.
