Toledo. The government delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, and the accidental chief colonel of the Civil Guard Zone in Castilla-La Mancha, Jesús Manuel Rodrigo Sánchez, have received the 98 trainees, who will join the units of the Toledo Command. Throughout Castilla-La Mancha there are a total of 206 students.
Milagros Tolón has welcomed on Wednesday the civil guards in practices that begin their training period in units of the region, up to a total of 206, a figure that represents an increase of 60% compared to last year and highlights, “the commitment of the Government of Spain to strengthen security” and increase the presence of the Civil Guard in Castilla-La Mancha.
“It’s time to step on the street”
During his speech, Milagros Tolón recalled that these new agents are now facing the internship stage after receiving training at the Academy of Baeza and the College of Valdemoro. “It is time to step on the street, the roads and the roads of our towns and cities, and get to know the citizens you are going to serve face to face,” said the delegate.
Milagros Tolón has pointed out that the practical training will be guided by the commanders and fellow veterans, which will allow the new civil guards to consolidate their training on a basis of solid values. In this sense, he has claimed the principles of the Armed Institute as “the commitment to public service, dedication to others, companionship and loyalty to Spain”.
The delegate stressed that Castilla-La Mancha is a safe autonomous community, with a crime rate that is 10 points below the national average. “This is possible thanks to the loyal and effective work of the State Security Forces and Corps and their close collaboration with the other police forces in the territory,” he said.
Commitment of the Government of Spain
The government delegate also recalled that the central executive’s support for the Civil Guard “goes beyond words.” In this regard, he stressed that the staff of the Civil Guard in Castilla-La Mancha has grown by almost 7% in the last seven years. In addition, the recent contest will allow the incorporation of more than 2,700 new troops throughout Spain, the highest figure since 2009.
Milagros Tolón has also alluded to the technological advances promoted by the Ministry of the Interior, such as the new telematic reporting service of the Civil Guard, which will allow more accessible and closer attention to the citizen.
Before concluding his speech, Milagros Tolón had a special memory for the civil guards who died in the act of service, “a light that guides our commitment and vocation of service to the citizen.”
“Thank you for choosing this profession, for your desire to learn and for putting your skills at the service of our security. It is an honor to receive you in Castilla-La Mancha”, he concluded.
The essence of being a civil guard
Previously, the accidental chief colonel of the Civil Guard Zone in Castilla-La Mancha, Jesús Manuel Rodrigo Sánchez, has welcomed the 98 civil guards in practices as the beginning of a stage that will bring them “to the essence of what it means to be a civil guard. During this stage you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned, but you will also have to continue training, here in Castilla La Mancha you will find managers and colleagues willing to guide, teach and support you.”
So he asked them to take “every opportunity to learn, ask and observe. Because the training does not end in the academy, it continues in each service, in each patrol , in each intervention, during these practices you will face real situations, many of them complex, and you will also have the opportunity to provide services at times that citizens need them most.”
To conclude, the Colonel stressed the values that the Academy has already taught them and that characterize the civil guards, “courage, loyalty, discipline and the spirit of sacrifice, justice and impartiality being the ones that must preside over all our actions.”
2nd Phase 40 Weeks Academic Training
These student guards, components of the 130th and 171st promotion of access to the Cabos y Guardias Scale from the Academy of Civil Guard Guards based in Baeza (Jaén) and the College of Young Guards “Duque de Ahumada” in Valdemoro (Madrid), will carry out their second phase of practices in different units of the Commandences of the Zone of Castilla-La Mancha, thus continuing their training, with an internship period that will last 40 weeks, after successfully passing the first academic course in the Teaching Centers of the Corps.
These practices aim to obtain the knowledge and professional experience in various operational areas, necessary to complete their training and finally acquire the employment of civil guard.
During this period, a small number of students will develop part of their practices in some specialties of the Civil Guard.
