Toledo, June 5, 2025.- The Government delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, presented on Thursday the charity concert “The Army against ALS”, organized by the Association of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Patients and Relatives (ADELANTE CLM) and the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Toledo (ADEMTO), in collaboration with the Army Museum and the Infantry Academy. The event was also attended by General Antonio Izquierdo and the manager of ADEMTO, Silvia Torres.
Milagros Tolón has thanked the organizing and collaborating entities for their involvement with an initiative that “goes far beyond the cultural” and that represents “an act of commitment to the people and families who live with diseases as hard as ALS or multiple sclerosis”.
The delegate stressed that this concert, in charge of the Music Unit of the Academy that will take place next Saturday, June 7 at 8:00 p.m. in the Alcázar of Toledo, has three great objectives: to raise awareness in society, raise funds for research and support for families and give visibility to those who fight in silence. In addition, he has highlighted the symbolic value of the entry price (5 euros) and the possibility of collaborating through Row 0, which “allows all citizens to contribute their bit”.
In his speech, Milagros Tolón reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Spain to people affected by neurodegenerative diseases. In this regard, he recalled the approval of the ELA Law, a pioneering norm that guarantees assistance improvements for these patients, and the Shock Plan approved yesterday by the Ministry of Health, endowed with 10 million euros, which seeks to offer professional care 24 hours to people in advanced phase of the disease, while fully implementing the measures of the law.
“These decisions are not just technical answers: they are acts of social justice,” said the delegate, who added that “the disease does not wait, and that is why it is essential that the help arrives as soon as possible.”
Milagros Tolón has concluded by thanking the work of the associative fabric and encouraging the citizens to join the concert or collaborate from Row 0: “Every entry, every euro, every applause and every gesture, adds up for a good cause. Thank you from the heart and congratulations.”

For his part, General Izquierdo, the first director of the Museum of the Army in Toledo and sick of ELA, has affirmed that it is a concert of solidarity, but also a demand, and has called for greater speed in the implementation of the measures contained in the new regulations.
From ADEMTO, Silvia Torres has thanked the delegate for her involvement in the dissemination of this event and has insisted on the competent claim of the concert to achieve a commitment of institutions and civil society to improve the situation of patients in Toledo and Castilla-La Mancha.
Rafael Boja, retired infantry captain, also spoke. He gave an account of the content of the repertoire prepared by the Music Unit of the Academy, with “varied music”, from pasodobles to jotas, as well as film soundtracks.
