Toledo.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, presented the decoration of the patio of the Delegation of the Government, in the Plaza de San Vicente, 3, on the occasion of the Corpus of Toledo. Patio that will be open so that all the public who want it can contemplate it and enjoy it.
It will be visited from Monday 16 to Friday 20 from 18 to 22 hours, while on Saturday 21 it will be open from 12 to 14 hours.
“We open the doors of the Government Delegation so that citizens can enjoy their patio, decorated for the occasion. A building that has a Renaissance front, from the 16th century, as the main access from the Plaza de San Vicente. It belonged to the College of Noble Maidens and therefore the shield of Cardinal Silíceo appears on its façade,” said Milagros Tolón.
Interior and exterior decoration
The building that currently occupies the Delegation of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha (due to the works in the building of the Plaza de Zocodover) belongs to the Chamber of Commerce, “an institution that has been linked to it since its creation in 1912”.
Milagros Tolón has stressed that in the 70s of the last century “the current rehabilitation was carried out on the building of the 16th century, recreating a typical Toledo house-patio where highlights its wooden balcony, the upper craftsmanship and the ceramic composition with the Toledo shield (with the transfer of the Delegation this composition has been restored, so it can also be seen and enjoyed)”.
The government delegate pointed out that “we opened the heart of the government delegation to neighbors and visitors to celebrate the Corpus together. We invite you to discover this unique corner, dressed in the care and affection that our big party deserves.”
Enter the interior decorations, in the patio, you can see “a large tapestry with the shield of Spain and large plants, of more than 150 centimeters, and robust plants of medium size. In the exterior façade, tapestries and pastries”, Milagros Tolón has finished.
