Toledo.- The delegate of the Government in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, inaugurated this Wednesday in Toledo the integral rehabilitation of the pavilion of the School of Gymnastics for which the Government has allocated a budget of 2,906,523.97 €, which represents 76.23% of the cost through the Recovery Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain.
During her speech, the delegate recalled that this modernization is the result of the joint work between administrations and the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to promote projects that improve the quality of life of the citizens. “It is very satisfying to see how the Recovery Plan reaches the real economy and contributes to improving people’s day-to-day lives,” he said.
Commitment to Toledo and its sustainable development
In an event that counted on the participation of the mayor of the city, Carlos Velázquez, and attended by members of the Municipal Corporation, the delegate has pointed out that this action is part of a strategy of transformation of the city of Toledo promoted in its stage as mayor with criteria of sustainability, accessibility and inclusion, aligned with European objectives.
In this sense, through the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (PIREP Local), the Government of Spain has allocated more than 10 million euros to Toledo, being the city of Castilla-La Mancha with greater funding for this type of projects.
Among the actions financed, the improvement of the chalets of the Integration Park (2.6 million), the rehabilitation of the Supply Market, inaugurated in December (1.3 million), the pending intervention in the building of La Alhóndiga (3 million) and the 2.9 million for the pavilion stand out.
In addition, Milagros Tolón has recalled other actions promoted by the Government in Toledo with European funds and state funding, such as the remodeling of the Park of La Vega, the recovery of the Ecological Path of Tagus or the Tourism Sustainability Plan.
A renewed space for citizenship
The delegate congratulated “all those who have made the renovation of this space possible” and highlighted the symbolic value of the pavilion of the Gymnastics School, a space much loved by the Toledans and the Toledans, which once again becomes a reference for the sporting activity of the regional capital.
“Toledo and Castilla-La Mancha are on the agenda of the Government of Spain. The inauguration of this pavilion is an example of the Executive’s commitment to the development of the city and the improvement of its infrastructures,” concluded Milagros Tolón, who has shown his commitment to continue collaborating with the City of Toledo and all the municipalities of the region to achieve the greatest resources on the part of the Government of Spain.
The action carried out has consisted of improvements in energy efficiency, including the replacement of the roof, boiler, windows and lighting; also improvements in accessibility; in waterproofing and replacement of the electrical installation; as well as the improvement of the environmental sustainability of the resulting building. Thanks to them, an energy saving of 99.56% compared to the previous state of the building is expected.
