Toledo.- On the occasion of the celebration of the National Police Day, the delegate of the Government in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, has praised the commitment, the vocation of service and the personal sacrifice involved in being part of the National Police, highlighting that these values and their professionalism make the Corps an international reference in the fight against crime.

In his speech, Milagros Tolón recalled with special emotion the 188 members of the National Police who have been victims of terrorism, dedicating a heartfelt message of support to their families and colleagues.
“I have always been aware of the scope of your work and, above all, of the personal and family price that you have to pay for being a member of the National Police and the other State Security Forces,” said the delegate, who pointed out the pride that it is as a country to have one of the most prestigious police forces in the world.
Bicentennial
Milagros Tolón has referred to the 200th anniversary that this year celebrates the National Police, a history marked by successes and milestones, among which he has highlighted the incorporation of women into the Institution, which is 45 years old.

“Your response to the new challenges we face as a society, as well as to traditional crime, makes the National Police an international benchmark, something of which we must all be very proud,” said the delegate.
Everyday heroes
“You are heroes who go out every day to do your duty, often putting your own integrity at risk to save lives. However serious the threat or challenging the situation may be, you are always there, and today we value it in the day of your patron,” he said.
The delegate of the Government has recognized the work of professionals “capable of risking everything to preserve our well-being, in fulfillment of the mission of the National Police: to protect us and provide us with a space in which we can exercise our rights and freedoms in peace and in full security.”
In addition, he praised the merits of those who have been decorated, noting that “commitment, vocation of service, effectiveness and capacity for sacrifice are values that define the National Police and that are sublimated in distinguished people. Congratulations to all for these recognitions that represent the daily work, often invisible, but essential for Spain to be one of the safest countries in the world.”
