Ciudad Real. The Plenary Hall of the City Council of Ciudad Real hosted on Wednesday the meeting of the Local Security Board that has been presided over by the delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, and by the mayor, Francisco Cañizares. The government’s deputy delegate in Ciudad Real, David Broceño, was also present.
The objective of this call has been to share the security and emergency device developed on the occasion of the celebration of the festivities of Pandorga, celebrations that are a focus of economic attraction for Ciudad Real and its surroundings with thousands of visitors to the central events, as the delegate stressed.
Milagros Tolón has pointed out that the Government of Spain once again puts at the disposal of Ciudad Real troops of the National Police and Civil Guard Corps to cooperate with the rest of the security and emergency bodies to preserve security on these holidays.
In this sense, the National Police is responsible for security in the city, controls, surveillance, attention to the citizen and intervention to guarantee public order. To this end, the usual means will be reinforced with uniformed police, civilian agents of the Information Brigade and two prevention and reaction units (UPR).
For its part, the Civil Guard will carry out checks and surveillance on the access roads with the participation of the Traffic Subsector mainly, and other units prepared in case their intervention is necessary.
Normality and tranquility
“The institutional collaboration between the administrations allows the State security forces and bodies to coordinate with the rest of the security and mobility bodies, emergency and health services and municipal services so that we all enjoy the holidays normally and with the peace of mind that our security is in the best hands,” said the delegate.
Milagros Tolón has affirmed that the Pandorga is a time of encounter, of coexistence and of renewing our traditions; and, at the same time, a focus of economic attraction for Ciudad Real and its surroundings. For this to continue to be so, the security device we are addressing today contributes.
For this reason, he thanked the mayor for the welcome and all those who collaborate in this device and made an appeal to enjoy the Pandorga 2024 “with joy, with maximum fun and also with maximum respect”.
The Local Security Board was also attended by the Subdelegate of the Government in Ciudad Real, David Broceño; the National Police Commissioner, José Alberto Camacho Pedrero; the Commander of the Civil Guard of Ciudad Real, Colonel Juan Antonio Valle; the Councilor for Citizen Security, Ricardo Chamorro, and heads of Local Police, Firefighters, Civil Protection, Community Board and other entities, municipal areas and emergency bodies that participate in the operation.
