Ruidera (Ciudad Real). From July 1 and until September 16, the security device that the Civil Guard will deploy in Las Lagunas de Ruidera to guarantee security in the summer season will remain activated, a device that has been presented this Friday in Ruidera (Ciudad Real) by the delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón; together with the head of the 2nd Zone of the Civil Guard in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Javier Cortés.
Milagros Tolón has pointed out that the main objectives of this operation “in this wonderful enclave” are to guarantee the safety of the public that goes to this environment in the summer season, order traffic on the days of greatest influx and prevent environmental crimes such as fires or spills. “And for this the Civil Guard plays an essential role.”
Those responsible for the operation expect an influx of about 15,000 people on working days and 20,000 on weekends.
The delegate of the Government has highlighted the coordination of the different units that participate in a device that will be permanently active during the next two and a half months and has thanked the Civil Guard and the other emergency teams “for their dedication and dedication that allow families to enjoy rest days in a safe environment”.
Likewise, he has called on the people who are going to enjoy this space to respect the other users and the natural environment and has asked for the utmost caution to be able to enjoy in total safety the many attractions offered by Las Lagunas de Rudar.
In the security device prepared by the Civil Guard, the Albacete and Ciudad Real Commanders are involved with the following units:
-Citizen Security.
-Nature Protection (SEPRONA).
- Judicial Police.
- Information.
-Teams (drones) of Police Specialist in Aeronautical Management and Operational Safety (PEGASO).
-Information Technology Support Group (GATI).
-Peripheral Information Office (OPC).
-Traffic Subsector of Ciudad Real and Albacete.
-Special Group of Underwater Activities (GEAS).
-Cavalry Squadron (on weekends with the largest influx).
-Helicopter during weekends and holidays.
The head of the 2nd Zone of the Civil Guard in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Javier Cortés, has stressed that the agents deployed are from the Albacete and Ciudad Real Commanders, who will be supported by the helicopter of Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid) and the cavalry squadron, which is in Valdemoro (Madrid).
The presentation of the device was also attended by the deputy delegate of the Government in Ciudad Real, David Broceño; the head of the Command of the Civil Guard in Ciudad Real, Colonel Juan Antonio Valle; and the head of the Command of Albacete, Colonel Jesús Manuel Rodrigo.
Also present were the mayor of Ruidera, Josefa Moreno; the mayor of Ossa de Montiel, Alejandro Chillerón; the mayor of Villahermosa, Ángel Cano; and the mayor of Alhambra, María Isabel Merino.
Declared Natural Park by Royal Decree 2610/79, of 13 July, Las Lagunas de Ruidera has been a Wetland Biosphere Reserve since 1981 and a Special Protection Area for Birds since 1988.
They are a total of 15 lagoons that house a great biological richness, with a great diversity of animal and plant species. You can do activities such as hiking, water sports, there are also bathing areas during the summer and good places for sport fishing.
The lagoons, with an extension of 3,772 hectares, are located in the limits of the provinces of Ciudad Real and Albacete, integrated in the municipalities of Ruidera (Ciudad Real), Ossa de Montiel (Albacete), Argamasilla de Alba (Ciudad Real), Villahermosa (Ciudad Real) and Alhambra (Ciudad Real).
