The Council of Ministers has today authorized the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to tender, through Adif, a contract for the maintenance of part of the Madrid-East High-Speed Corridor, with an estimated value of 65.1 million euros (VAT not included) and a period of four years, extendable another year.
The performance includes several sections of the Madrid-Valencia Joaquín Sorolla lines; Albacete-Alacant Terminal branch; and Banker-Yeles branch (track 2). The aim is to ensure optimal conditions of movement, passenger comfort and safety.
The contract includes the conservation and preventive and corrective maintenance of the elements of the superstructure (ballast and plate track); the infrastructure (esplanations, structures and tunnels); unique elements, such as viaducts and track devices (diversion and expansion devices); and maintenance bases. They also include investments that increase the value of assets.
The works will be carried out in the facilities in operation and in those
which have not yet been put into service, in which proceedings will be carried out
of pre-maintenance. They will also include the maintenance of any
Expansion in the facilities, either by putting new ones into service
Lines or sections that have a direct connection or by functional changes.
The work will be carried out in the fields of action of the bases of
maintenance of Villarrubia de Santiago (Toledo) and Gabaldón (Cuenca).
This action contributes to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9,
which has among its goals the construction of reliable infrastructures,
sustainable and quality to support economic development and well-being
human.
