Toledo. The Government, through the Sectoral Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development, chaired on Monday by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, has approved the definitive distribution of 49,399,893 euros to Castilla-La Mancha to finance programs to support the wine sector and promote the consumption of milk, fruits and vegetables.
In total, the Sectoral Conference has authorized the distribution of 149.9 million euros for all the autonomous communities to promote different measures for the wine sector included in the Wine Sector Intervention (ISV), as well as to develop the school program of fruit, vegetables and milk consumption for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Regarding the restructuring and conversion of vineyards, the Sector has authorized the distribution of 75.7 million euros between the autonomous communities for the year 2025, of which 35,774,887 euros correspond to Castilla-La Mancha. These supports seek to improve the competitiveness of the sector, through the adaptation of producers to demand, reduce production costs and facilitate their adaptation to the challenges of environmental improvement, within the framework of the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
Likewise, the Autonomous Communities will have 54.3 million euros of the second call for investment aid of the Wine Sector Intervention 2024-2027, which attend to all of the 248 eligible aid applications communicated by the communities. Of this amount, 12,490,625 euros goes to Castilla-La Mancha.
These grants subsidise investments in processing facilities and wine infrastructure, as well as marketing structures and instruments, for wine products.
In addition, the Sectoral Conference has approved the distribution of Community funds from the School Fruit, Vegetable and Milk Consumption Program for the 2024-2025 academic year, for a total amount of 19,940,879 euros for all Autonomous Communities. Specifically, Euro13,917,417 has been allocated for the fruit and vegetable consumption programme and Euro6,023,462 for the milk consumption programme.
In this matter, Castilla-La Mancha will receive 1,134,380 euros. This program aims to promote the consumption of fruit and vegetables in the school population, contribute to the promotion of healthy habits and the reduction of obesity and other related diseases.
