Guadalajara.- Guadalajara participates with a total of seven activities in the new edition of the programs of literary activities in public Secondary Schools and ‘Cartoonists of Stories’, the latter in Art Schools, organized by the Ministry of Culture, through the General Directorate of Books, Comics and Reading. In particular, six meetings have been scheduled in so many other institutes in different localities, with authors including Pep Bruno or Elvira Lindo, and one more with the illustrator Carla Berrocal at the Art School “Elena de la Cruz”.
With more than two decades of experience, the program of literary activities in secondary schools offers students the opportunity to get to know the work of narrators, poets, playwrights, illustrators or translators closely, and represents an opportunity for them to take a pulse of the interests of young readers. To do this, the author will talk about his work and creative process and will maintain an open dialogue with the students. In total, 370 activities have been programmed throughout Spain, with the participation of 263 authors.
In the same way, the program ‘Story Artists. Literary meetings in Art Schools’, which aims to support creators dedicated mainly to illustration and comics, will have a total of 34 meetings, including the Art School of Guadalajara. Its objective is to contribute to the development of a quality artistic training that guarantees the qualification of future professionals in the plastic arts and design.
The selection of institutes has prioritized those who participate for the first time in the program or did not have activities the previous year, and has also valued the diversity of literary genres (narrative, poetry, theater, essay, translation and illustration), as well as the variety of the trajectory of the authors or parity. For their part, in the program ‘Cartoonists of Stories’ it has been the centers themselves that, depending on their programming, have proposed the participation of the creators and agreed with them the topics to be treated, the format and the date of celebration of the activity.
