Toledo.- Milagros Tolón, delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, has today highlighted the commitment of Afanion (Association of Families of Children with Cancer of Castilla-La Mancha) during the last 30 years, “because they have been 30 years of improvement. You are an example of overcoming, you are heroes, you are brave.”
This was pointed out by Milagros Tolón during the commemoration of the International Day of Childhood Cancer that took place in Toledo, in the Plaza de Zocodover. An event that also included the participation of Eva Ocaña, vice-president of Afanion Toledo/Guadalajara; and Teresa Marín, general director of Humanization and Social and Health Care.
“Take your voice to the top”
“When I received the invitation, I was very excited. The first act I had at Toledo City Hall as mayor was the opening of Afanion’s headquarters on Brive Street 10 years ago. We have always been, are and will be with children affected by cancer, with their families and with Afanion.”
Milagros Tolón has been delighted to participate in the event, in which there were workshops, inflatables, release of balloons or exhibition of a batukada, which have encouraged the large audience gathered in the Plaza de Zocodover. “Yes, you are an example of improvement”, he stressed, “and for that we have to be the administrations, to listen to you, to help you and to vindicate. Eva and the whole family of Afanion, count on me as you have always done as mayor and today as delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha to bring your voice to the top and with a clear objective, the aid to research and, above all, to strengthen public health in Spain”.
