Renfe has issued 38,064 free passes in the third quarter to travel on Media Distancia trains in Castilla-La Mancha from September 1 to December 31, 2023. In addition, it has sold in this autonomous community 19,051 Avant fertilizers at 50% to travel to or from Toledo, Ciudad Real, Puertollano, Cuenca or Albacete. Both these subscriptions and free MD trains can be purchased at any time during their period of validity.
The province of Castilla-Manchega in which the most free Media Distancia subscriptions have been sold is Ciudad Real, with 20,496, followed by Albacete (12,214) and Toledo (4,774). As for the 50% Avant season tickets, the three most popular routes are Toledo/Madrid Atocha (5,051 discount tickets issued), Ciudad Real-Madrid Atocha (4,110) and Madrid Atocha-Toledo (1,332).
Nationally, Renfe has reached the two million free subscriptions issued for travel in Vicinity, Rodalies and Media Distancia from September 1 to December 31, 2023. Of the total number of free tickets issued, 1,441,195 are subscriptions to travel in the different centres of Neighbourhoods, Rodalies and Neighbourhoods Metric Width, while 496,395 are Medium Distance subscriptions.
Likewise, Renfe has sold 67,931 titles with 50% discounts from Avant to use these services. This same discount applies to other high-speed routes that have been declared Public Service Obligation (PSO), which operate under the same conditions as an Avant voucher.

The Proxies app allows the acquisition of the recurring subscriptions of Proxies and Rodalies in a fast, simple and agile way, generating a QR code that is downloaded on the mobile phone and that can subsequently be used in the access control of the stations. Media Distancia subscriptions can also be purchased through the Renfe website.
To purchase the subscription, although it is free, it is necessary to deposit a deposit of 10 euros in the case of Neighbourhoods and Rodalies, and 20 euros for each conventional Media Distancia service. The payment by card allows the automatic return of the deposit, once it is established that the condition of having made 16 trips during these four months has been fulfilled.
