La Roda.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Tierraseca, visited the rehabilitation project of the Posada del Sol, in La Roda (Albacete), which is being carried out by the 1.5% cultural of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) for the conservation of the architectural heritage.
Tierraseca has highlighted the “good rhythm” of some works that began in July 2021, fulfilling the “commitment” launched by the Government of Spain at the end of 2020, on a visit of the then Minister of Territorial Policy, Carolina Darias, to La Roda, that this emblematic building of the seventeenth century of the municipality of Albacete would receive the support of this fund. This was a positive and swift response to the demand made by the City of La Roda, the delegate recalled, who applauded the progress of the work, which is expected to be completed by the end of next March.
The 1.5% cultural program is aimed at local entities and is another example of the firm support of the Government of Spain for the recovery and protection of heritage, which intends to take another step with the increase of that percentage to 2%, initialled last December between Mitma and the Ministry of Culture and Sport. This program, defended the delegate, is “the best instrument for the recovery of the cultural, artistic and architectural heritage of the towns and cities of Castilla-La Mancha” and therefore has again urged the municipalities to “take advantage and present projects to enjoy it”.
The Posada del Sol was acquired by the Rodense Consistory in 2003 and was in a situation of significant deterioration. The City of La Roda had an economic contribution for its rehabilitation, although the support of the Government of Spain through this route promoted by the Mitma has been very relevant for the recovery of this building as a cultural and patrimonial space of the municipality of Albacete.
The Government delegate specified that the Executive of Pedro Sánchez has contributed 535,000 euros, of the 973,000 euros of the final budget of the project, including already a modification of the subsequent project that had to be carried out.
Once the rehabilitation action is finished, the Posada del Sol will house the Tourist Information Office, the Cervantino Center and an exhibition and conference room, generating a new cultural space for the town.
La Roda is part of the 6 projects approved in Castilla-La Mancha in the same call to receive contribution through the 1.5% cultural of the Mitma, together with Nerpio, also in Albacete; San Clemente, in Cuenca, and Sigüenza, Brihuega and Pastrana, in Guadalajara. In addition, the budget received by the Rosian City Council in this call is the highest in the Autonomous Community.
Repairs after Philomena
The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha also took advantage of the visit to La Roda to see the progress of the projects subsidized by the Ministry of Territorial Policy to the City of Roda to repair damages caused by the Filomena borrasca.
These are seven projects that will be subsidised at 50% by the Government of Spain, amounting to 1,073,716.56 euros and that will be undertaken for a global budget of 2,147,433.14 euros.
Two of them are related to the improvement of urban roads, amounting to 1.6 million euros; two projects are road repair, amounting to 300,000 euros; two work on sports facilities, amounting to 88,000 euros, and finally, there is another project subsidized for the recovery of the rainstorm ditch, for 151,000 euros.
The subsidy for the projects approved to the City of La Roda is part of the 44.7 million euros authorized by the Council of Ministers, in June 2021, to subsidize (by 50%) the cost of the projects to repair the damage caused in municipal infrastructures and road network by the Filomena borrasca in Castilla-La Mancha, which amounted to 89.4 million euros. It is part of Royal Decree-Law 10/2021, which adopts urgent measures to mitigate the damages caused by ‘Filomena’.
They are subsidies aimed at the execution of works for the repair or restitution of infrastructure, equipment and facilities and services owned by the municipalities and the townships, as a result of natural disasters, as well as road networks of provincial councils, councils, island councils and uniprovincial autonomous communities.
The government delegate recalled that in the province of Albacete, a grant was granted to 116 projects presented by 34 municipalities and the Provincial Council, for a total subsidized amount of almost 10 million euros (9.9 million).
Throughout Castilla-La Mancha, he also recalled, subsidized projects presented by 320 municipalities, the 5 provincial deputies and 2 communities are being implemented, for a total subsidized amount of 44,708,074.31 euros.
