The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda has approved the construction project of “Humanization and improvement of road safety of the N-400 crossing”, in the municipality of Noblejas, located in the province of Toledo. The works will be tendered shortly.
The intervention, whose budget is 7.8 million euros (VAT included), is included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), within the cross-country humanization program, which plans to invest 105 million euros to promote a more sustainable, inclusive and accessible urban environment. With this, it is intended to promote the configuration of cities oriented to return spaces for other forms of alternative mobility to the car and to guarantee the physical connectivity of people.
The full stretch of the crossing runs from kilometre 53,193 and ends at kilometre 57,640 on the N-400 road. Although, specifically, urbanization activities are carried out between the kilometers 53,950 and 56,025.
Currently, the section under action has the characteristics of an interurban road: it does not have clearly signposted parking areas, curbs and sidewalks are damaged, there is a lack of lighting in certain areas and landscaped areas.
The purpose of this project is to adapt this stretch of crossing to a road belonging to an urban area, for which the following actions are contemplated:
Execution of parking areas and pedestrian areas that have sidewalks, garden bands and bike lanes.
Execution of network of hydrants and irrigation network.
Grounding of the air lines of the existing networks.
Replacement of affected services (telephony, electricity and gas)
Installation of public lighting.
Execution of telecommunications pipelines.
