Ciudad Real.- The sub-delegate of the Government of Spain in the province of Ciudad Real, María de los Ángeles Herreros, reported this morning on the main actions of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez that affect the province, at the same time she has reviewed the data of the growth of 5.5% of the Spanish economy that has just been known and that strengthens the degree of certainty offered by the Government of Spain.
Regarding the balance sheet of the main actions of the Executive are based on three axes: measures aimed at guaranteeing a social shield to the middle and working class, those aimed at promoting the dynamization of the economy and employment, specifically also “with measures applied directly in this territory and related to the demographic challenge such as the Tourism Sustainability Plans”, has specified M.ª Ángeles Herreros, and as a third axis, a “very strong investment in Adif infrastructures that exceed 170 million euros”.
Social Shield
“The government of Spain is complying with the province and the people of Ciudad Real. This is a government committed to the protection of the social majority, with measures such as the revaluation by law of pensions according to the IPC” said the deputy delegate.
In a context of extraordinary difficulty, during the crisis caused by Covid-19, it deployed a social shield with measures such as ERTE, which have allowed companies and jobs to be saved: 27,000 workers have been protected in Ciudad Real by the ERTE, with a cost close to 91 million euros. With regard to the Minimum Vital Income Ciudad Real concentrates the highest number of beneficiaries, just over 20,000 people and the 8.5% increase in pensions reaches 100,000 recipients of the different types of pensions (retirement, widowhood, orphanhood and permanent disability contributors).
Employment
In parallel, far-reaching measures have been taken, such as labor reform, which has increased stable work, as already recognized by international organizations such as the IMF. Likewise, the SMI has been substantially raised.
“Also in our province we can appreciate the fruits of the policies of the Government of Spain that benefit citizens who go to work daily, as happens with free and 50% subscriptions, since there are almost 22,000 subscribers in High Speed and Medium Distance in the province.” In addition, “3,600 companies and self-employed freight and passengers operating in Ciudad Real benefit from fuel price bonuses for professionals, and 8,300 families in the province of Ciudad Real receive the Electric and Thermal Social Bonus”, said the subdelegate.
Infrastructure and railway investment
The subdelegate has also referred to other recent measures of the Government of Spain that favor the interests of Ciudad Real, such as the recent and demanded tender announcement of the drafting of the Informative Study of the Southwest Variant of Ciudad Real that will connect the A-41 road, approximately at its link with the N-420 with the N-430 road. Currently, the connection between the aforementioned roads has to be made through the inner rounds of Ciudad Real. He also recalled the works of rehabilitation of the bridge over the Jabalón River on the N-420 with a cost of 1.7 million or all the investment executed on the N-430, in which action has been taken since the beginning of the legislature.
“But if there is one thing that makes a difference with the rest of the provinces of Castilla-La Mancha, it has been in the enormous investment in railway infrastructure planned, more than 170 million euros”, said the subdelegate Herreros.
Thus, MITMA has provided 54 million euros for the renovation works of the Brazatortas-Guadalmez section and will improve the signalling and security systems between Villanueva de la Serena and Brazatortas/Veredas with a budget of 38.3 million euros. We must add actions with an investment of 40.5 million euros for the renewal of the Ciudad Real-Mérida line, just over 57 km from the line in which the reliability of the infrastructure has been strengthened and the levels of comfort for users have been increased, or the reforms of stations such as Valdepeñas or Puertollano.
The work of the new El Puertollano National Police Station is being carried out in security infrastructures, with an investment of 6.4 million euros and which will be lifted in summer/autumn 2023.
Rural development
Also in relation to tourism, Herreros has stressed that the Government will provide another 8.5 million euros for three new tourism sustainability plans deployed throughout the province; Ciudad Real, Almadén and Tomelloso. The Tomelloso Sustainability Plan has an investment of 2.5 million euros, that of Almadén 3.81 million euros and the new Enogastronomy Plan of Ciudad Real, will have an approved investment of 2.1 million euros.
To these must be added the ones already completed in Campo de Criptana and in Cabañeros and the Geopark Volcanes de Calatrava (developed by the Diputación de Ciudad Real) that have amounted to 4.2 million euros.
This province has developed, with the management of the Provincial Council, a large number of IDAE (Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving) projects, an agency attached to the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, exceeding 8.5 million euros in projects that favor a low carbon economy and are in progress another 3.2 million euros in energy efficiency for schools in the province.
