The Delegation of the Government of Spain in Cantabria has observed this noon a minute of silence for the last three victims of gender violence confirmed by the Ministry of Equality, through the Delegation of the Government against Gender Violence.
The victims, all murdered by their partners, are a 39-year-old woman from Toledo, a 30-year-old woman from Seville and a 36-year-old woman from Barcelona.
The Secretary General of the Government Delegation, Santiago García, and the head of the Unit for the Coordination of Violence against Women of the institution, Diana Mirones, have led this minute of silence at the doors of the headquarters of Calvo Sotelo.
After the confirmation of these three cases in Toledo, Seville and Barcelona, there are already 45 women victims of male violence in Spain so far in 2025, with 31 children orphaned.
Since January 1, 2003, 1,340 women have been murdered by their partners or ex-partners, and since 2013, there have been 500 registered orphaned children victims of this violence.
