The Delegation of the Government of Spain in Cantabria has observed this noon a minute of silence for the last confirmed victim of gender violence, a 29-year-old woman allegedly murdered by her spouse in Alicante on December 2.
The Secretary General of the Delegation, Santiago García, and the head of the Unit for the Coordination of Violence against Women, Diana Mirones, have led this minute of silence in which personnel of the institution and members of the State Security Forces have participated.
After the confirmation of this case in Alicante, there are already 42 women victims of male violence in Spain so far in 2025, with 23 orphans. Since January 1, 2003 that there are records, 1,337 women have been killed at the hands of their partners or ex-partners.
